Memories (Hero x Mari)

Hero waited on next-door's drive, shoving his hands deeper into his pockets in an attempt to keep them warm. The first few bars of Mari's symphony floated towards him, the beautiful sounds occasionally broken by a cry of frustration as she made a mistake. He hesitated briefly before knocking on the door. After a few moments, it opened.

Mari sat in front of the piano, head in her hands. She knew the song by heart,knew how to play it. So why couldn't she just get it right? She sighed, and started to replay it. She paused, wondering whether there was something missing. Part of the song just sounded wrong. Empty. But it was pointless to worry about it now. She could just talk it over with Hero later. She got up, looking around for her bag. She picked it up and left the room, just as there was a knock at the door.

The two embraced, laughing. They hadn't gone anywhere together for a good few weeks, school finally getting the better of them after so many months.
