NUMB

On account of the fact that I'm not an elder I was not allowed to attend the council meeting. So I decided to invite Percy over to watch the movies. He wanted to watch Finding Nemo while I wanted to watch Abduction just can't get enough of that movie. we were in the middle of watching Finding Nemo when I got a phone call. "Hello?" I asked cautiously. " Is this the Olympia residence?" "Yes." " I'm sorry to say that your mother was murdered before she can make it to the meeting. I'd like to say that I'm so sorry for your loss and that because you are the creature that you are you'll be allowed to stay by yourself but you will have at least one Guardian guarding your door every day so that the same thing does not happen to you." I hung up the phone after saying goodbye but I felt so numb inside. I went back in the living room and flopped on the couch. Percy looked at me worried and said "what's wrong with you?" I shook my head he kept asking me questions what's your favorite color" I shook my head again are you okay I shook my head again I just felt so numb I didn't even realize that I had fallen asleep until I was woken up by Percy. He looked down at me. I opened my mouth and it all just spilled out of my mouth. "My mother is..........she's dead." He pulled back and stared at me. Then the tears came. Big,juicy years tired down my cheeks. Percy scooped me up and put me on his lap. I cried into his chest and for once I was not afraid to cry. I did show weakness that day and I'm not ashamed because I felt numb.

The next day I threw on a black tee with some black stretch pants and black converses. I threw on my black hoodie and walked out the door. I was waiting for Percy by my locker when Drew Tanaka and her crew came. They knocked my book out of my hands. I growled and said: "move I'm not in the mood!" "What are you gonna tell your mommy?" She said teasingly. That struck a nerve. I punched her perfect nose and heard a satisfying crunch. I punched her in the guts and she was spitting up blood. "No," I spat at her "my mother is dead" onlookers looked at me in pity and at her in disappointment. I made out a familiar pair of sea green eyes and approached Percy. He wrapped his arms around me and shoot flats st anyone who even glanced our way. If looks could kill only us and our friends would be alive.
