Lara sat in a kind of numb silence at the idea that a known killer, child trafficker and worse, had sat in her mother's sunroom and drank from their grandmother's antique tea set, while lying about her father's murderer.
She struggled to put the entire story together, but things kept going in circles. Finally, she put her head in her hands and just rested for a moment.
Namjoon watched Lara surrounded by her family and as she put her head down, he made another judgement call.
"Ok we've been going since 11 this morning. We haven't had more than a few minutes to sit all day, and I doubt any of us have eaten much today," he said and got some general murmurs of agreement.
His guys were still busy watching the video on screen, and he thought most of the girls were confused and shocked at what had happened today.
He glanced down at his watch and confirmed that it was just past six in the evening. Namjoon looked to Yoongi, who made his flat line face and then shrugged.
Yoongi stepped forward to tap Jin on the shoulder, and Jin turned in his chair to look over the room. His glance fell on Ginny who had one hand tucked around Lara's waist, and the other covering her mouth as she stared at the screen in a kind of horror.
"Damnit, this is just what I didn't want to happen," he whispered, and Namjoon sighed but nodded in agreement. But Yoongi shook his head a little.
"Jin-hyung, shit was going to go down whether they were here or at home. I don't know about you guys, but I'm kinda glad they're here with us, rather than back at that house not knowing any of this right now. Or even worse, knowing and trying to deal with it on their own. We're much better equipped to help them all deal with this mess," Yoongi said as he glanced back at the girls again. His eyes stayed on Blair, and Namjoon watched as his hyung's entire attitude softened before Yoongi turned back to him and Jin.
"Distraction time," he said, and Jin nodded in agreement.
Seokjin swiveled back to the keyboard, and set up two more searches, then shut down the monitors. He heard the girls protest behind him, but he turned back to face them and stood up.
"Namjoonah is right. We're operating on too much information, not enough food and definitely not enough sleep. If we run an op like this, we'd all be screwed," he said and when Lara looked up at him, he held out a hand to her.
Lara smiled and placed her hand in Jin's and he drew her up and into a hug, before he passed her hand to Namjoon's. He did the same for Ginny, as Yoongi came to stand behind Blair. Hoseok moved to Paige and pulled out his phone to read a message.
He turned to smile at Tae and Ava.
"Jimin and Darcy just finished delivering Eomma Tori to the airport and Bang Chan has advised they have taken off with no issues," Hoseok announced and was pretty happy to see a small smile from Ava before he turned back to the group at large.
"Jimin says he and Darcy didn't eat yet today either."
Jungkook's stomach chose that moment to growl loudly, and when he covered it with both hands in embarrassment, Paige gave him a hug.
"Alright," she said softly, and all eyes turned to her. "Let's figure out our food situation. I noticed that all the apartments have at least a small kitchen in them, but I think for right now it's easier to cook for all of us at once," she asked questioningly as she turned to Yoongi, who just nodded.
Then turned back to Jin.
"I handled last night," Yoongi said to Jin and made Jin and Namjoon roll their eyes, but Ginny stepped in between the men.
