Despite all the things people would hear, Mt. Ebott was a very nice place. There weren't many people or villages there but it was still a fun and relaxing place. In one of the few villages was a library, people would come everyday from that village and other villages to read and relax. One of those people was Frisk. Frisk was a lonely child, no friends, no family, in fact the only "friends" they had were books. Despite this, Frisk enjoyed their life at the village and learned as much as they could through books. They were a very intelligent child for their age. Frisk would always get compliments from adults because of how smart they were. Frisk lived in a small tent in the village and every morning they would go to the bakery to get bread and then go to the library and spend the day there. It was a nice cozy life. What more could they want? In truth, Frisk was bored of this life. They wanted something new, something exciting, they wanted to venture out of the village and see the world. However, this was not possible. It was too dangerous to venture out of the village, too dangerous for anyone, let alone a child. So they were stuck there not able to leave and just doing the same thing everyday. But what could they do? What adventure was out there?
One day just like any other day, Frisk was going to the library after having breakfast at the bakery. As they arrived at the library, they greeted the librarian who responded with a "welcome back!" and a smile.
Frisk went from shelf to shelf looking for what to read. They wandered for a while, nothing catching their eye, when they paused and looked at a certain book. They had never seen this book before. It certainly wasn't there yesterday or the day before that or any day they were there. They grabbed the book and the cover said 'The War between Humans and Monsters' Monsters? Frisk asked themselves. They had never heard of monsters before. No book they had read ever mentioned monsters. Frisk opened this book and found a red crystal shaped like a heart inside. Frisk being curious took the crystal out and held it in their hands. Suddenly, Frisk felt like they were floating and that's cause they were! The ground beneath them had disappeared and was replaced by a portal! Frisk was then sucked into the portal and disappeared with the crystal and the book. The last thing Frisk saw was a flash of light and the crystal before everything went black.
