"Morning!" Lauren smiles, practically skipping into the changing room.
"Someone's happy this morning." Ellen chuckles, "Whats got into you?"
"I think it's gonna be a good day today."
"Save the celebrations until after the match please ladies." Gareth interrupted, "get ready. Meet me on the pitch in 5."

I got changed into my kit, I hadn't been allocated a number yet so I was in a plain City shirt, same with my shorts. Lauren comes up on my left, still bounding around.
"When are you getting your number?" Lucy asked from the other side of the changing room,
"Uh. Not sure. I haven't been told yet."
Lucy shrugged then bent down to tie a lace, I turned to face the girl on my left,
"You feeling alright now?"
Lauren smiles, "yeah. I had some time to think about it. I've just gotta move on, focus on the football rather than the dating."
"Sounds like a plan." I smile, walking towards the tunnel with the blonde still at my hip.

UK weather never ceases to amaze me; yesterday I was freezing during training. Today; sweating. I'm used to fairly warm weather from back home, but the British sun was ten times worse. No idea why. After around half an hour of drills everyone on the pitch was drenched in sweat, water bottles had been disregarded and the water inside them poured over heads in an attempt to cool down.

"Okay. So, I wanted to quickly tell you who's going be the starting XI for the day after tomorrow. Ellie, you're in goal. Forwards are Lauren and Ellen. Ellen go Centre Forward, Lauren you're on the wing. Defenders; Lucy, Alex, Steph and I want to try you, Georgia. Lastly, in midfield we've got Hayley, Keira, Demi and Jill."

I was obviously not expecting to start in my first game, but it still felt horrible not being picked for the team.

"Alina. What would you say your best position is?" Gareth spoke up, startling me slightly.
"Mine, uh, Midfield probably."
"I second that." Lauren speaks up, throwing an arm over my shoulders, earning an exchanged glance between Lucy and Georgia, "she's rapid."
Gareth nods, "alright. Alina I want you as a sub for the game, I also want Mary, Jess and Kiara on the bench. Alright! Get back to training and please don't overdo it ladies!"

The starting eleven ran through their first half positions quickly before starting precision training. Gareth and his team had laid out a course of twelve comes what we either had to dribble around or through. From the outside it looked fairly easy, but adding a few of Man City's best defenders into the mix made it alot harder. Most of the team made it round easily. Ellie had some trouble against Lucy, but she managed it in the end. A few of the girls had handed their phones to one of Gareth's associates David at the beginning of the session, asking him to grab a few pictures for promotion. He handed me mine back first, I swiped through the photos he had taken. There was one of me dribbling around Lucy; with Ellen cheering me on in the background. There was a few action shots, and quite possibly my favourite, the one where we were stood in a group discussing the starting team, with Lauren's arm slung over my shoulder.

By the time we had finished training it was around 3:00pm, slightly later than we imagined. But everyone wanted positions and drills sorted the upcoming game. I made my way back towards the changing room, but halfway there I felt a presence on my left side.
"So," She started, I turned to face the voice only to find Lucy standing at my side, "what's going on with you and Hemp?"
"What? There's nothing going on."
"She's not a very touchy person. I think she's only ever hugged me like twice. Off the pitch anyway."
"Okay. And?"
"She must feel really comfortable around you to throw an arm over your shoulder."
"First of all; it's literally an arm, not the end of the world and second I've known her for two days, I don't think that's how it works."
"Yeah. And I've known her for two years. There's something going on there Alina. Don't deny it."
"if there ever is something going on you will be the first to know."
"I better be." Lucy chuckles, pulling open the door to the boot room, "C'mon. I need a darts rematch. There's no way I'm loosing to you again."

"What the fuck? How?" Ellen asks, "you've beat everyone in the room."
"I did say I was good at darts." I reply, shrugging,
"Did I hear someone say darts?" Lauren asks, walking into the lounge area,
"Oh thank you! Lauren, you god. Please beat Alina. She's putting us all to shame." Ellen says, gesturing over at the dart board.
"Happily." Lauren smiles, grabbing her darts from the side and taking a step back.
"Don't take it easy on me Hemp." I smirk, letting the blonde throw first.
"Wasn't planning on it."

"Finally!" Lucy cheers. The game of darts had been intense. At one point we were drawing for like seven rounds before Lauren took the lead. She ended up winning, but not by very much.
"And that... Is how you play darts!" Lauren smirks, glancing over at me.
"I'll give you that." I reply, "that was incredible."
"Hempo wins it agaiinnnn!!!" Ellen cheers, doing a lap of honour around the room and performing her goal celebration. The room erupts into chuckles and laughs at Ellen's performance, then dies down again. Everyone going back to their own things.

I walk over to one of the beanbags and plop myself in the middle of it, pulling out my phone. I clicked onto Instagram and uploaded three of the photos that had been taken earlier, including the dribbling one, another action shot, and my favourite one at the end. I added a caption and posted it to my profile, tagging some of the girls in the pictures. Lauren's phone beeped in her hand and she glanced at the notification, it obviously being me tagging her. She made her way over and sat down on a beanbag next to me ,
"that last photo's incredible. Can you send it me?"
"Yeah. Sure. I've got some more as well if you want them. David took loads."
I scrolled through the many photos David took and turned my phone so Lauren could see them. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed Lucy and Georgia muttering to themselves, glancing over at me and the blonde every so often. It was then I realised how close together we actually were, she was basically sat on the same beanbag as me and our legs were brushing against each others in every way imaginable, I got why the girls were staring.
