Loud and confident footsteps echo through the hallway. Heavy boots stop in front of a door which is ajar. Thor brushes over his beard. Usually Loki keeps it closed all the time, especially when he is in his chambers. Which he is according to the various noises that emerged from the inside. Thor catches a glimpse of Loki who seems to wander up and down his room. Thor decides not to wonder why his brother forgot to close the door entirely and pushes it open instead.
Thor: I was searching for you.
Loki (without looking up): What a surprise you found me here.
Thor: What are you doing? Are you going on a journey?
Since Thor came in Loki haven't stopped stuffing things into a bag. Thor watches how a book disappears into it. It was gone too fast to tell the title. Only Loki would consider to take a book with him everywhere he goes.
Loki (sighing): Yes, Thor. I am going on a journey.
He is sounding like he is talking to a child who is too naive to understand the seriousness of life. Thors eyes begin to shine.
Thor: Can I come with you?
Loki: Not this time.
Thor: But you never go on an adventure without me.
Loki: I fear this time it is different.
Thors eyes wanders around the room. Just then he spots the chaos all around. Clothes are pulled out of the wardrobe. Books lie scattered on the floor, some of them open with crumpled papers. A filigree looking tea cup is smashed into pieces, the tea inside spilled on the floor. Thor frowns his forehead. Usually Lokis room is one of the tidiest in whole Asgard. This is nothing like his brother would act.
Thor: Where are you going?
Loki: I am leaving.
Thor: You mean...
Loki lets out a frustrated sigh as he is annoyed of Thors obtuseness.
Loki: Forever, Thor. I am leaving forever.
Thor: But why?
Loki: ...
Thor: You can't leave. I am going to miss you. We have fought in so many battles ... have achieved glorious victories. We had so much fun.
Loki: You had fun...
Thor: You never wanted to go away in the past. What has changed?
Loki: Everything has changed.
Thor: What are you talking about?
Loki: You wouldn't understand.
Thor: Just try it. I am smarter than you think.
Loki pushes Thor to the side to walk over to the dresser. He opens several drawers in search for something.
Loki: Leave me alone, Thor.
Thor: Not until you tell me what is going on here. You are my brother and as such you-
Loki slams the drawer shut with a loud bang. He turns around to Thor with his face contorted in anger.
Loki: I am NOT your brother!
Thor (chuckling): What nonsense are you talking about? Of course you are.
Loki shakes his head, sighing heavily.
Loki: Odin just told me. He has found me in Jotunheim when I was still a newborn, left out do die in the cold ... because I was too small ... too weak. Odin took me with him. But not because he felt pity for me. He thought it might benefit him one day.
