Let me introduce myself, my name is Niki Cole. I'm 16, my best friend's name is Rae and my hair might be slightly green (I swear it said 10-15 washes only!)
I'm in my final year of high school and so far it's been OK, I've been to a few parties, crashed a couple, kissed a guy, fallen in love, fallen out of love, kissed a girl and almost made a teacher quit.
Quite boring really
The most interesting thing that's happened so far has been The Law.
The Law is a law stating that forced marriage is mandatory which is dumb and there were riots but it's still here. I found out about The Law about a month ago and just yesterday did I find out that in 4 days, on my birthday, I'll be married to Jakob Thoms.
Fricking Jakob Thoms.
Aka my ex, aka the biggest asshole in my school, aka high school's golden boy.
In case your wondering, I am NOT popular. Jakob went out with me first year of middle school, it lasted about 18 months and ended randomly. 18 fucking amazing months.
18 months I regret more than anything else in my sorry little life.
Let me tell you about dear old Jakob. He's tall, taller than me but only slightly, caught between blonde and brunette, his hair is curly, his eyes are turquoise, his freckles cover his nose and just between his eyes, his jaw is to die for and he's a dumb rat.
The day I found out that I was betrothed to him started fairly normally. Well, as normal as you can get on a Wednesday where you wake up 45 minutes late. Just my luck
School had some kind of early morning hype that day. It was weird.
I hadn't had my morning coffee yet, my shorts were itchy, it was windy and I had maths. Great day, huh?
"GIRL! Have you heard? Everyone's talking about you!!" Rae had called and handed me a coffee.
"I'm going to forget what you just said and thank you for buying me coffee," she rolled her eyes at my snide remark.
"I just thought that you'd want to know that you're marrying Jakob on Sunday," she mumbled into her bag as she rummaged around for something
"WHAT?!"
I spat coffee everywhere.
"Yeah and he's walking over here so LOOK PRETTY!!" She whisper-shouted at me.
And that's where we catch up to the beginning.
He looks at me

"Third to fifth period we have to go plan for Sunday. Meet me in the parking lot,"
