Ode to the beginning: the innocence
To the unknowing of life's trials and tribulations
To sloppy faces and wet diapers
To almost dying once or twice from chasing an animal to the road
Ode to childhood
To heated battles of tag: soaring across the playground
To sweaty palms and Otter Pops and
Warm mommy kisses on your forehead as she sets you off to school
Ode to love
To the butterflies that flutter in your stomach
To moonlit walks on the beach
To the last piece of your puzzle
Ode to youth
To beautifully tanned skin
And windswept hair
Ode to the hurt
The lonely and the desperate
Ode to the space unfilled
To the "A team"
For all of those that fall into a bottomless pit
To those that haven't held out their hand for God's help
Ode to death
To the unfinished paintings
The trips not planned
For the proposals being left untold
To the greatest thief of all: Death
Ode to the memories
To the dusty photo album on the top shelf
The lonely memories yearning to be felt once again
