Clicking echoed throughout the room.
You, being the source.
The dark room was a figment of your current state of mind, you completely focused on the screen in front of you. The screen, which contrasted starkly against the darkness of your room, constantly flashed.
If you were any normal person, you'd probably have a migraine from how bright it is.
Normal.
You think it's a funny word. Objective, too. Either you're normal, weird, or above all. You, personally, think you're decently 'normal.' However, society views normal.
The time hit 1:00 AM, which concluded this gaming session. You, whose eyes were slowly adjusting to the shadowy room, blinked and squinted.
Maybe I should take breaks more often.
The computer stayed on the main screen of Minecraft, and everytime you glanced at it you had to adjust to the light. So, you walked towards said computer. You were going to lower the brightness, and probably go shower after.
You never really got tired.
You don't know why, it's probably because of your eyes. Maybe it's your brain.
The PC hummed throughout the room, a background noise to distract you whilst you dug through your clothes.
Many clothes can be dated back to the 1700's, as that was one of your favorite eras of clothing. Though it was a hassle to put on, they make for elegant looks for when you're going out on special occasions.
But, you had to fit in.
You, were like everyone else. You have to fit in, and be normal.
Of course you never talked with people about your issues, though. You have a journal of everything that has happened. From war, to you learning new cultures. It was almost like a guide to constantly follow. A pattern, if you will. Like you followed fashion trends, slang, language.
Though, the world always seems to recycle it's fashion, so it wasn't hard for you. Slang, you never understood, either. You've always used anything trending without thought, though. You had to learn from watching teenagers and young adults interact with eachother.
You had nobody to use slang to, so why bother?
Your home, which was mostly off into the country, was decently unbothered. You used solar electricity, which powered your two-story estate. You always fixed it by yourself, slowly learning how to by reading manuals. The water you used was found naturally from springs, or rain water. But, for the bathroom the water naturally flows in. You never questioned where, all that you knew it was clean and efficient.
Your food was self harvested, also coming from the farm you owned.
Many people, if they've ever drove by, would slow down their automobile and stare. Nobody questioned who lived there.
You were normal.
The internet was something you've recently discovered. It was like a god machine, sent from the heavens to help subdue any need for human interaction. It's been years since you've gotten any, anyway.
How you got the money for it was decently bewildering. You never thought too much upon that, though. Normally if you think about something you need, you somehow have it.
One of those things has been money.
Of course, that's how everyone got their money, right?
You have looked into jobs, too, but you can't never seem to want to do one. You're not sure why, but you had a feeling something terrible would happen if you did.
It's the same when you have tried bonding with others. Online or in real life. Family bonds, too, when you had one. They all were slowly pecked off of the earth, leaving you to the house and alone. You had a.. partner. You faintly remember anything about him, aside from his caring nature.
Your hand flitted across the faucet for the tub, turning it on. Perhaps, a nice bath will distract you from your worries. Possibly your aching bones, since that's what normal people have.
Not that you can feel the ache.
Your mind rushed back to the video game, Minecraft. It was such a peaceful world, the one you've created. It would be nice to live in it, no?
Your eyes closed as you sunk into the tub, warmth developing your being.
You were simply infatuated with video games. Open world games, like Minecraft, looked infinitely easier to live in, too.
Though you can't say you don't love your current home, it does get boring after a few millennia. The constant restructuring and fixing barely ever did anything to ease your carnal desire to adventure.
An adventure without limit.
I wished I lived in Minecraft.
Your body jolted, water splashing across the floor. Quickly, the tub was empty. Soon enough, the entire house, farm, every thing disappeared.
It was almost as if you never existed.
