The music was blaring all throughout the house as you wandered in search of your friends. Somehow between the hundreds of 'hellos' and 'I've missed yous' you lost them. As you made it to the kitchen you saw a familiar face, not the greatest face, but familiar nonetheless.
"Hey Jason", you sighed as you walked up behind him. You watched as he struggled to open a beer bottle on the side of the counter top.

"Hey stranger! You having fun?" He called out to you after looking over his shoulder seeing who it was. He began to viciously try to catch the lip of the bottle on anything he could find; cabinet, table.

He tried to reach for a knife but before he could you snatched it out of his hand and put it back.

"It's a lot, but I'm good". You grabbed the bottle from his hands and a random lighter that was lying on the counter. You popped the top off and handed the bottle back to him. He took it and stared at you as a smile slowly crept on his face.

"Impressive move, Herbs" He took a swig and held the bottle out to you.

Herbs. You scoffed at this remedial nickname and looked at the bottle not reaching for it.

"I-I think I'll take it easy for now. But thank you", you held your hand up blocking your path. He shrugged and took another gulp.

"Have you seen Chrissy or any of the girls?" You asked him hoping out of all people Chrissy's boyfriend would know where she was. His face revealed he had absolutely no clue, and by the look of it he was beginning to be too drunk to even notice.

"No I don't... but I can tell you she owes me a dance. So if I see her I'll tell her you're looking for her". He slurred and patted your shoulder as he walked away.

"Thanks..." you mumbled as you turned to watch him stumble into the crowd.

"Alone again", you thought as you looked around the room. You looked down at the table and grabbed the lighter sliding it into the pocket of your skirt just in case.

You were slightly annoyed your friends had lost you when they knew you were anxious about coming. You slithered between people and walked through rooms trying to make out their faces in the dark. After walking around the house you just about gave up until you heard someone shouting your name. You spun around to see Chrissy, Jason and some of the other squad and basketball players standing by the backyard sliding glass door.

"Come here!" Chrissy motioned you to come outside.

"Thank God", you thought as you squeezed past the drunk and dancing people.

"Hey Herbs, I found her", Jason laughed as he wrapped his arms around Chrissy's waist from behind. Chrissy elbowed him in the gut as you came closer. She knew you really didn't care if he called you 'Herbs', but she didn't like him teasing you.
