Seulgi trails behind Joohyun as they leave the building. Joohyun gets her medication, which means she no longer has to suffer from the nightmares of Jennie.
"Joohyun," heeding the call of her name, Joohyun turns around.
"Do you think everything will return to normal now that you have medication?"
Joohyun sets her hands awkwardly on her sides, shrugging. The other woman sighs. Joohyun watches as Seulgi gets into the car without another word.
When they returned, Seulgi was the first one inside. She was giving Joohyun the cold shoulder again, giving her whiplash from all of these mood swings.
One moment, they're happy and loving on each other, and the next, they're giving each other the silent treatment.
The car ride home was silent. Nobody wanted to say something, which drove Joohyun insane because she wanted to but just couldn't.
It's ironic. Joohyun was a singer. She would think she would know all the magic words by now and would know how to fix any broken relationship.
But, when she steps off those stages, her mind becomes empty. Her demons come back to haunt her after each concert.
Joohyun looks up from the ground and sees Seulgi holding their apartment door open for her. She gave a small smile to Seulgi before swiftly making her way past the taller woman.
"Seul," the woman says, looking over her shoulder as Seulgi hums from the entryway.
"Do you still love me?" Joohyun avoided any eye contact with Seulgi. She was afraid of the answer, but she had to know.
No, scratch that. She needed to know.
"What are you planning, Irene?" Seulgi gives Joohyun a worried look. "Nothing. Just a thought," she mumbles, taking her leave.
Entering their room, she plops down on the bed and rests her face in her hands.
What was she going to do about her upcoming comeback? The concert was in two weeks, and all of this made her feel helpless.
The company gave her a three-week pushback due to her recent situation, which eased the weight on her shoulders.
It was a lot of time, yet it seemed like such a small extension. She could spend it with Seulgi or try to overcome her whole nightmare problem. She was indecisive.
She wanted to spend it in various ways, and it was becoming a burden.
Joohyun swore her work was going to be her tipping point. She may say she loves her job-meeting fans and getting piles of love, praise, and support-but she wanted to retire.
More specifically, she wanted to settle with Seulgi one day.
When she becomes more mentally stable, so to speak, she wants to officially make Seulgi hers and live an enjoyable life with this fantastic woman.
But she was beginning to question whether Seulgi reciprocated that feeling now that she had been accused of dating Jennie and still had a burning passion for her.
Which was blown entirely out of proportion.
Joohyun wanted to be with Seulgi and only her. She thought her words from two nights ago would make her girlfriend believe her, but maybe she needed a little more convincing.
And now, she's stuck thinking about a concert and coming back, all while having a rough patch in her relationship. The not so simple life of a singer was overwhelming.
When she was younger, she adored it, but it's been dull and uninteresting for her these days. But as you get older, your dreams tend to change.
Joohyun thought she wanted to be a singer, but she gradually became tired of it in the long run.
