Seraphine Libreaux, was a 7 year old girl and the only unexpected child of Saphila Lennox. Due to the Great Fey war, the world was already in trouble but who would ever think about a single woman trying to feed herself and her little daughter.

Among all the chaos, Saphila was doing her young daughter's hair in her personal dressing room. Giving birth was not in Saphila's cards, Though Miracles still Happened. Saphila didn't have any other choice but to practice prostitution to earn.

I don't want to do this either, But sometimes you don't have a choice. It was always a need and never a want.

Saphila thought to herself while tying Seraphine's hair up in a ponytail as she looked at her reflection. She was once flawless and imcomparable too, but depression showed up and her traits started to undo. She was weak, sobbing now.

"You don't have to mother." Seraphine's comforting voice spoke breaking her thoughts. She looked back at her mother with her hazel yellow eyes shinning in the moonlight passing through the window. "Once I turn 13, you won't have to do anything. I will take care of you, just like you took care of me."

Saphila's eyes became watery at the gentle words of her daughter. A tear rolling down her cheek thinking about her daughter's fate. "Don't cry mother. Everything will be fine once I turn 13." Seraphine said, caressing her mother's cheek and wiping off the tears that rolled out of her eyes.

Soon enough, a bell rings around, A Sign. Time for Saphila to leave. She hugged Seraphine one last time. "I'll be waiting, my little melody." She said as she walked out of her room. Seraphine watched the curtains fall between her and her mother, wanting to end this soon, she couldn't do anything yet.

Jordan noticed Saphila's uneasiness. He pulled away as they panted for air. Picking up his shirt he passed it to Saphila as she took it hesitantly. "You don't have to do this." He sighed. "Your consent is more important to me." He looked at Saphila as she buttoned up the shirt. He noticed that his gaze sent shivers down her spine so he looked away.

"I don't want Seraphine to end up like me. She deserves better." Saphila leaned on the headboard of the bed, her baggy eyes conversing no emotion. Jordan glanced at her. "But that doesn't mean that you have the permission to take her away from me." Her tone was defeating. "I know I don't. We both know she is lethal. I want neither Seraphine nor the people to be hurt." His gaze fell down to his feet. "You can come and meet her whenever you want. Trust me, she'll be better there. I thought you wanted the best for her." He turned his gaze to Saphila again.

Her half lidded eyes showed no emotion, she became numb. A tear rolled down her cheek. Her lips were sore. the silence in the room made her deep breathes audible.

"Of course, I want the best for her. I'm her mother. But I never imagined that one day that little melody I created would be taken away from me like it's nothing." She gasped and lifted her head up, eyes widened. " Take me." Jordan blinked at the idea, his heart ached for Saphila as he knew something she didn't. "I'll ask Lady Vanessa about that." He sighed. "But right now, If I don't take seraphine with me, she'll-' "You can take me too, right?" She looked in his eyes, her breathes ragged. Jordan looked away avoiding her gaze, " I cannot." He mumbled.

"The underground has grown wild since the beginning of the war. People are going mad for food and shelter. Everyone is expecting our help, so we have to supply food. There isn't space for people to sit in the carriage. It would get worse if I took you with me right now. People are also attacking carriages, in this situation I wouldn't be able to be attentive towards you. You'll be hurt and I can't risk that." He explained in a calm voice.
