---------------------------What a splendid day it was, how it had been in that sultry July.
The sky shone in an intense and lively blue, while the green and shiny grass tickled the feet and legs of the two little blond-haired girls who played in the inflatable pool making a huge crash.
Watching them, sitting on the wooden veranda, the two young parents conversing among themselves in the quiet of that warm and slow morning."So, what did the gynecologist tell you?"
"There is still a lot to go" the woman puts her hands on her stomach "But at least I know that everything is going well and that Allen is healthy."
"That's the most important thing" replies the man, also putting a hand on her, wanting to feel that little creature that at that moment, probably, was sleeping happily and safely inside her.
The woman with the youthful face and her hair shaded with the colors of the sky and the grass smiles at him slightly and lets him do it "But look at him." No, one daughter is already enough "and now he's smiling like an idiot for the third."
"Shouldn't I be happy?" the blond-haired man asks about her in a sarcastically playful tone, giving her a light kiss on her cheek, making her smile slightly.
"I didn't say that," she retorted as he made himself comfortable in the chair next to her "It's just that, would you have imagined yourself in this way?"
"Never" he replies without even thinking about it, watching the girls play in front of them, regardless of their chatter or the pride he felt for them.
"Sometimes I look at them and I can't help but see your own face, you know?" Continued the man taking her hand "That same face I met a long time ago .." he concluded then, letting both of them cuddle in that light breeze that was in that shady veranda that served as a refuge in that heat surrounding."What was she like?"
The woman said so, perhaps without even thinking about it too much.
A question like this, out of the blue, without a real context or preparation, which surprised him and not a little."She, who?"
"She ... the robot who died on that space trip of yours ... the one you revived once you got to Mother."Was she talking about herself in the third person? That woman sometimes confused him and not a little.
And above all why do you ask him that like this, without a real why?"Oh .. do you want to know about your old life? You never asked me so ... in detail."
There was silence from the woman, who simply made him swallow before continuing.
"Well, you were ... skinny, petite and short ... not that you have changed that much now but ... all in all you were ... very pretty.
Maybe I would never have looked at you that way if it weren't for your intellect. "
"Her intellect?"
"Yes, you were very intelligent and that was what intrigued me particularly about you." He laughed slightly. "We spent whole nights just talking and building, talking and building ... sleepless nights just spent like that. Together we also have built a superhero suit.""And… did… did you like her in that sense ..?"
It must be one of those days when instead of being silent she wanted to chat and be pushy, huh?
But he had married her, and by now this speech was at stake, so he had to give her an answer."Not right away in reality ... Actually ..." he stopped for a moment before continuing, to understand how to say it without offending her, despite the fact that he was talking about herself in her previous life ... "On the contrary ... I don't remember how many times have I looked at others women in front of you ... and yet ... and yet in the end, I always came back to you. Always. I swear to you, always. "
The woman looked at him without having any particular emotion and this reassured him enough.
She at least she wasn't angry.
