Thunder rambles in the night while the rain is still heavily pouring outside. In the Wheeler's basement, Mike Wheeler, Dustin Henderson and Lucas Sinclair are all standing up, soaked from the rain, in front of the strange balded girl they have found in the woods. She is shaking in cold, sitting on the couch while drops of water fall down her forehead. Her brown eyes are wide open as they are processing the room around her. Mike's wet jacket still holding over her shoulders.

"Is there a number we could call for your parents?" Mike asks to the shaky little girl. "Where's your hair? Do you have cancer?" Dustin wonders in schock. "Did you ran away?" Lucas asks. "Are you in some kind of trouble?" Mike follows.

Lucas squints his eyes to the stranger's yellow shirt and notices red stains. "Is that blood?" he questions, leaning his hand towards her. Mike quickly snaps his hand away and shouts. "Stop it! You're freaking her out!".

"She's freaking me out!" Lucas pleads. "I bet she's deaf." Dustin intervenes. He leans towards the girl and loudly claps his hands, in an attempt to verify his theory. The stranger jumps in shock and frowns at the toothless boy. "Not deaf." Dustin concludes.

"All right, that's enough, all right? She's just scared and cold." Mike claims before looking for dry clothes in the back.

The thunder groans again, making the girl jumps in fear in front of Dustin and Lucas. Mike comes back with a set of clean clothes and hands it to her. She accepts them and softly puts her head against it, before getting up and starting to undress.

The boys scream in distress and look away in fear, while the confused little girl is getting told not to do that here. Suddendly, the basement door opens with a sneaky Y/N coming through. She is holding a plate full of snacks and drinks and quickly comes down the stairs with an angry face.

"What are you guys doing? Stop yelling so loudly, my parents are going to hear you!" she snaps angrily before putting the plate down on the table.

The little girl looks at her in confusion and Mike helps her walking to the basement bathroom. He shows her the room and shyly starts closing the door, but the girl firmly holds it opened. Mike is taken by surprise and says. "You don't want it closed?".

The stranger shakes her head and finally says. "No." Mike gets excited. "Oh, so you can speak. Okay, well... Um, how about we just keep the door..." he suggests while slowly pushing the door. "...just like this?".

He asks if that is better for her and the stranger replies yes. Mike nods in satisfaction and leaves her to change her clothing. He gets back to his sister and his friends. Y/N served orange juice to the boys who told her what happened in the woods, when Mike joins them back.

"How is she doing?" Y/N asks Mike, her hands playing with the locker pendant of her necklace. "Fine, I guess. At least, she can talk." he answers.

"She said 'no' and 'yes'. Your three-years-old sister says more." Lucas snaps at him, putting his glass down.

"She tried to get naked." Dustin says in disbelief. Y/N looks at him with a frown.

"There's something seriously wrong with her." Lucas adds. "Like wrong in her head."

"She just went like--" Dustin continues, mimicking the stranger act of undressing. Y/N kicks him to make him stop.

"I bet she escaped from Pennhurst." Lucas theorises. Mike asks him what he is talking about and Lucas replies. "The nuthouse in Kerley County."

"You got a lot of family there?" Dustin jokes at Lucas. "Bite me." he snaps back. "Seriously, though. Think about it. That would explain her shaved hair and why she's so crazy."
