The sun shone through the curtains, making my soft skin glow. Usually when it was time to wake up I would groan, annoyed I'd have to leave my comfortable queensized bed. But today when I heard my alarm ring, I immediately stood up,excitement running through my body.
Today was the day I had been waiting for. I would finally get to see my best friend again. Stacy and I had been friends since high school, but then she had to move to Spain with her parents. Since then I haven't seen her, we've only facetimed every now and then.
However today I would fly to Spain and spend a week with her. It took two weeks and alot of patience to convince my papa. He has always been overprotective when it comes to me, which is something my friends wouldn't really understand.
"You're an adult, Elena" If I got one dollar for each time I got to hear this sentence, I'd be a millionaire by now. Oh wait, we actually are. My dad never talked about his buisness and I was used to never ask questions about it.
After I washed my face and brushed my teeth, I jumped into the shower and let the warm water run down my body. After I used my favorite body wash that smelled like strawberries, I shampood my hair quickly.
When I got out of my bathroom I got dressed in sweatpants and a sweater, since it was going to be a long flight and I wanted to wear comfortable clothes. After I was dressed, I went downstairs, my suitcase already waiting for me at the door. I went to the kitchen, where my papa had already prepared breakfast for the both of us. When we finished eating, he drove me to the airport. Next thing I knew is, he held me tight, I almost couldn't breathe. He didn't let me go before he told me to stay safe and to call him everyday. "I'll call you when I land" I said, before taking my suitcase and entering the airport.

Finally sitting in the plane, I took out my favorite book. It was a mafia romance book. Some people find it weird that I read those, but mafia books are actually my favorite.
After a while I noticed from the corner of my eye a silhouette, definitely a man, sitting right next to me. I ignored it and focused on my book. But soon I could feel his gaze on me and my book.
Normally it wouldn't bother me, but his gaze was so intense it made a rush of heat run through my body. I could feel my heart beat a little too fast, that I even started feeling a slight pain in my chest. But then something unexpected happened. The man beside me leaned forward and started whispering something that caused my heart to completely stop beating for a second.
"I don't know why these books romanticize mafia bosses, but I can surely tell you that in reality, we're not that nice sweetheart"
