This little fic just came into my mind when I saw the 4x20 promo photos.

Mary Margaret, David, Henry and Killian walked along the street to meet Emma and Regina who had gone to New York for a couple of days. They looked like a family, which was amazing, considering the fact that Emma's parents hadn't approved of Killian first. But now he is treated like family. He attends to family dinners and spends a lot of time in their loft, just enjoying the quiet monents. Everyone is aware of his and Emma's relationship, and they have truly accepted it.

It wasn't easy for Henry. Captain Hook had had a bad repute, and he hadbalready had another heartbroken mom. But after a while, he admitted that Hook wasn't going to leave his mother, and supported them as much as possible.

And there was David too, the protective father. He doubted Killian the most, mainly because of the fact that he was dating his daughter. He kept an eye on him when he could, especially when he talked to Emma. David probably still hasn't accepted Killian fully, but nobody has blamed him for that. That's what fathers do after all.

When they saw the yellow bug appearing on the street, they got super-excited, although Emma still hadn't forgiven her parents.

Emma and Regina got out of the car, following by Robin and Roland. They stayed next to the car for a while, but Emma immediately ran to hug Henry.

"I've missed you, kid." She said with a smile, then pulled away.

"I've missed you too, mom, but there's somebody who has missed you even more." He replied, smiling back to his mother. Emma rolled his eyes, and let go of Henry.

"Welcome back, Swan." Killian stepped closer, and greeted her. Emma didn't answer, just pulled her pirate boyfriend into a big hug. None of them wanted to let go each other, so they didn't. After a short kiss, Emma walked to her parents, pulling Killian's hand with her.

"Hey. Everything's alright in Storybrook?" She didn't smile, because she was still upset, but her voice was a lot softer than a few days ago.

"Yeah, of course, Emma." Mary Margaret was almost crying, she hated so much to be this far away from her daughter. And she couldn't even blame her for keeping distance. "Glad to see you've found Lily."

"I wasn't happy after it turned out that she had known everything about us and was seeking revenge against you." Emma laughed sarcastically, but then turned to be serious again.

"What?" David asked in shock. "How could that be possible?"

"Ask her. She didn't explain to me. Not like it would matter."

"You're right, it doesn't." Her mother agreed. "All that matters that we own her a lot more than a sorry."

"That you do. Bye the way, was everything okay with Henry?" Emma asked, just to make sure.

"Sure. He spent most of his time with him." Her mother pointed to Killian, who was still standing beside Emma and smiling to her with love in his eyes.

"Thanks." They nodded. "Well, I should probaby reunite Maleficent with her daughter. See you tonight." Emma released a small smile, and turned around. Killian let go of her hand, which caused a confused look from her.

"Don't you wanna come?"

"Sorry, love. I thought you wanted to handle it alone. But I'm happily going with you." He smiled at his Swan again. Emma put her arm around his waist. He retutned the gesture, and pulled her closer to him.

She looked back to het parents. The expressions on their faces were quite funny. David pretended not to notice their small action, on the other hand, Mary Margaret smiled happily. Simpy the fact that her daughter opened up enough to let them know how she feels made her happy.

"Everything's fine, love?" Killian asked before they reached the bug.

"Now that I'm back, yes, it is."

Lately, her smiles hadn't been honest. But being with Killian or Henry had been totally different, because they had brought light in her life, and in those rough times, she really needed light.
