Two twin deer silently observed a rock in the distance devoid of life, mistaking it for an object to play with. One was constructed of green tree bark yet was also an organic animal decorated with flowers. The other was a snowy white fawn who was outfitted with snowflakes. The common trait they shared was their species and antlers made of tree fitting their color palettes. Their eyes tricked them into believing it was the size of a pebble, perfect for batting back and forth to one another.

The green one, Daffodil, took a step back to marvel at it. His sister Flake, meanwhile, approached it carelessly. "What are we waiting for?" She asked, looking back to meet his amazed yet scared gaze. "We've never traveled without telling Mom..." "You can be a mama's boy all you want, but I'm going to explore!" With that she dashed away, leaving the dazed animal to choose if he'd report to his parent while risk losing sight of her or follow and have his mom become infuriated. He chose the former, rushing over to her.

Flake was unphased by his absence—it was stereotypical for him to need time to warm up to her ideas. She shot past stars, hurtling towards the increasingly large rock and realized her mistake, but she couldn't stop herself now! She skidded across the ground, knees taking the brunt of the fall. She looked up dizzily. The universe was still gently twinkling, uncaring.

She took a curious look around, finding it odd how there was nothing around besides some carvings crafty meteors made eons ago most likely. It was also cold on the surface, so she decided it was the perfect temperature to add icy lakes! The world was huge despite not having a reason to be, so she focused on filling the crevices and cracks.

Once she had finished, Daffodil finally arrived. "Fashionably late as usual." Flake teased. "I already covered half of this in ice!" "What, so is this yours now?" Daffodil playfully challenged. "...Yeah!" "We'll see about that!" Feeling assured that nobody owned the pile of rubble they were standing on, he magically made grass and flowers sprout across the land! They were colored dully and drooped as if though disappointed with the unfertile soil. "That's not normal..." He said to himself, concerned.

"...What if this rock is sapping away my powers?!" "Mine didn't feel any less strong. Maybe you're getting weaker?" "This isn't a time for jokes, sis..." "Lighten up! We'll be fine. What's the worst that could happen!?" "A lot of things." "I'm sure Mom could fix everything. She's the literal ruler of the universe!" "I guess so." He felt reassured, smiling at Flake and her grinning in return.

Just as the conversation came to a close she arrived, appearing in the form of a deer, body formed by the cosmos and eyes represented with glistening stars, topped with illuminated, shiny horns! "Mom!" They both called out, cheerfully staring at her mysterious figure. "I am glad you are excited to see me." She factually said, looking around the world.

"You will be more excited when you hear of the news..." "What?" Daffodil said, anxious. "What is it, what is it!?" "You will be chosen for the rulers of this planet." "What?!" "Cool!" "What do you mean we'll be rulers?! Aren't we too young?" "I have elected to not bring any citizens into existence before you master your powers. Until you prove yourselves responsible and mature enough, they will be withheld." "Phew..." "Aww, come on! Haven't we shown off how good we are with making stuff!?" She nodded. "I understand you have potential, but there are many other trials and tribulations than simply creation." "...Quit speaking in fancy words I don't get!" "This, my dear, is why you are not yet ready." She grumbled, knowing anything she retorted with would be used against her.

"Goodbye for now, my children!" "Bye!" "Cya...!" She vanished into a sparkly dust cloud, leaving them to cough. "Ugh, does she always have to make that grand exit?" "Well, it is pretty...!" They stood in silence for a while. Both were unsure of what to do next. "...How about we slide around on the lakes!?" "As long as we don't fall into space...!" Flake rushed to the frozen pond, mischievously grinning and beginning to dance.
