A couple of hours passed by slowly but it was soon 11 PM which meant that it was time for the plan that me and Jack had been working on to be put into action. Honestly, I was quite nervous, having my doubts and I kept thinking that everything was going to go wrong.

Jack entered my room quietly after using the bathroom. My mum was sleeping so it was very important that me and Jack stayed quiet. "Okay, Aria, are you ready to sneak out now?" He asked me. I nodded before giving him a quick gesture to order him to stay quiet. We ended up having to communicate through gestures after that. My mum was a very light sleeper and she often checked on me whilst I slept so I knew that me and Jack desperately needed to sneak out right now.

Me and Jack both made our way over to the window. The plan was that Jack would help me out of the window first on to the tree. The tree's branches were thankfully overgrown so would be much easier to reach. Without hesitation, I opened my window and climbed out. Jack held on to my hands and I felt a few butterflies flutter around my stomach but chose to ignore them because whatever I felt towards Jack wasn't my main problem within the current moment.

As I climbed and was about to grab the branch, I watched my mum's bedroom light flicker on. My eyes widened in shock as I turned to face Jack. "It's my mum, her bedroom l-" I had been leaning my leg against one of the branches for support but suddenly the branch snapped below my foot which caused me to dangle. I tried not to scream, terrified.

Jack didn't know what to do. I was about to fall but he knew that he couldn't just let me go but he knew that he couldn't cry for help either. "Aria, I'm sorry..." He whispered, loosening his grip which caused mine to tighten.

"What do you mean?! You can't let me go." I whispered up to him but my voice was a little louder anyway because of how quiet it was outside.

"I know...but I can't hold on forever." Jack admitted.
