You were sitting on the couch, as you had just gotten home from work, when you heard the door of yours and Ariana's shared apartment shut. You were extremely exhausted, as you had just been promoted from a paralegal to a partner at your brother's law firm, which was a huge change for you. You had been doing paperwork in your office all day, but you could hardly focus since the only thing you could think about was getting home to Ariana. You were snapped out of your thoughts when you heard a quiet voice behind you.

"Hi, my love. How was your day at work?", asks Ariana as she walked around the couch to sit next to you.

"It was fine. How was yours?", you say untruthfully.

Ariana knew you weren't telling the truth. She could read you like a book, and she knew that your day at work was anything but fine.

"It was great, baby. You seem a little on edge. Is there anything you want to talk about?" She asks as she scoots closer to you taking your hand in hers.

"I'm just so tired, Ari. I love my job, but lately, everything has just been so much. I'm stressed out."

She places her hands on your shoulders, slightly massaging them as you lay down in her lap.

"I wish things could be easier. Why do they have to be so stressful Ari?"

Ari's heart was breaking to see you so tense and all she wanted to do was wrap you up in her arms and give you a million kisses.

"I know that things are hard for you kylie. I just hope you know that no matter what, I'll always be here for you and you can talk to me about anything. Okay, bellissima?", she says, running her hands through your hair.

"Mhm. I love you Ari.", you mutter as you drift into sleep laying in Ariana's lap.

"I love you too. So much, baby."

She kisses your forehead and drapes a blanket over you as she goes upstairs to take a shower, wondering how she got so lucky to have such a beautiful girlfriend.
