"Unaku eppodhume Enna vida un friend dan mukyam la ?! Nee lam oru nalla annan ah ?!", Tara scowled at her brother who straight out refused to drop her on the very first day of college even after she had requested multiple times.
"Dei avala vitutu dan poyen da", their mom chided as she continued to serve hot idlis on their plates.
"Nalla sollu ma avanta. Epdiyum Adhey college la un friend ah drop panitu dan poga pora... car la Enaku matum edam illaya ?!", she was fuming with anger at this atrocious behavior.
"Unaku avana pathi nalla theriyum. Ponnunga naale allergy. Unna kanda inum mosam. Avan enkita eduvum kekave matan... sudden ah vandi puncture. Adhunala dan enna ketan. Unaku dan college bus ku kaasu katirku la... adhula pona enna?" Dhruv tried to explain.
He saw his sisters face change from angry to disappointed which he could not handle. He could not handle being in the helpless state.
Knowing her brother too well, Tara changed her mind.
"Dei ... moonjiya apdi vechukaadha. Iniku na bus la poren Aana nalaiku nee dan Kootitu ponum. Ok?!", she said with a smile putting him out of his miserable state.
"Kutty maa... Anna rombha sorry ok?! Kandippa nalaiku Unna Na drop panren", he caressed her hair gently.
Being 7 years apart in age had its own advantages. He was her best friend, guide and another father most days.
"Varum bodhu bhel puri, pani poori, samosa chaat Elam marakaama vangitu va", she instructed and left to her bus stop after waving a huge bye to her family.

"Dei Vanten da", Dhruv reassured to his friend who had been now waiting for him.
They had first met as classmates in college and then got closer when his family decided to move to this locality for Tara's education in a famous school nearby.
Their friendship grew leaps and bounds when they had both gotten into the same company. It was as if they were destined to be in each other's lives.
After 3 years of work experience, his friend decided to pursue MBA and had gotten into the same prestigious university where his sister had gotten in for her Computer Engineering course.
Although Tara and Karthik were poles apart in every nature of theirs, just knowing that she would have his best friend to rely on in case of any issues made him feel at peace.
He parked his car in front of the large gates and admired the beauty of his friend's home that was handcrafted to perfection.
While he was in awe as always, he heard the knock on his car that brought him back into the real world. He quickly unlocked the door and his friend rushed in.
"Unga veetla dan 10 car iruku la... oru nal adhula edachu eduthutu polam la ?!", Dhruv asked.
"Dei adhu enga appa oda sothu. Endhu Illa. Andha bike matum dan naa kashta pattu vangnadu.... Iniku nu paathu puncture", Karthik's eyes grew restless.
"Seri vidu... onum prechana Illa. Na dan Vanten la", he cheered up and a smile finally showed upon Karthik's face.
"Tara vum un college dan da. Konjam paathuko. Avale konjam tension la dan poirukaa"
"Yaaru? Enna oda vitu adichaale avala? Ava lam yaarukum bayapda maata. Avaluku dan Ella pasangalum bayapadnum", he said with a sarcastic attitude.
"Machan... Ava Enna Unna therinja adicha?! Nee en thirudan madri sevuthula eri gudhicha?!", he burst into a loud laugh unable to get that picture of his sister beating his best friend with a broom.
