----Lilith POV----

The first week wasn't really eventful. Most of the time we just walked or cut our path through the undergrowth. Sometimes one, or two, weak monsters attacked us, but they were never a problem. I even got lucky and found something to eat every day, so my supplies weren't getting lower.

I currently sat at a small campfire in the middle of a clearing. Fenrir, as always, lay besides me, with his watchful eyes scanning our surroundings for enemies. Over the fire hung a rabbit I hunted yesterday and I eagerly awaited my meal for today.

My biggest problems, at the moment, were my dreams. I couldn't stop what had happened to my family, but couldn't I have at least saved Luana. In my dreams she just stared blankly at me and asked "Why?". The look she gave me even haunts me through the day.

*Why wasn't I faster? Why wasn't I stronger? Why did I go to that tree, instead of joining the twins and my brother?*

Then I would see Dad's headless corpse again, standing up and pointing with his finger at me, being joined by Mum, with her head hanging to the side until, what was left of her throat, growing longer and longer until her head lay on the ground, exploding: My uncle would then step out of this puddle of blood with the heads of all the others falling out of his stomach, flying at me, and then biting me until I die. Only to wake up, drenched in sweat with Fenrir looking worriedly at me.

*But it doesn't help thinking about it...good sleep is for People without worries...the rabbit is ready, nice...*

Trying to shift my thoughts I focused on my coming meal. The taste of cooked meat without some form of seasoning was rather plain, but beggars can't be choosers.

After eating, I decided to sleep for the day, it took me a while to finally fall asleep, and once I did, the Dream came back.

1 Month later...

This last month was rather exhausting. Most of the time, I needed to cut my way through the undergrowth, all the while I ate up a quarter of my supplies. There weren't any animals around anymore and aside from a few berries, there was nothing to eat all around.

The lack of a good sleep made my exhaustion all the worst. I changed my pace and started to rest for 1 Day more. Now I would walk for 2 days, rest 1 day, walk another 2 and then rest for 2. I figured it wouldn't delay my journey too much.

To make some use of my lost time, I started to examine the gifts I received more closely.

*Why haven't I done this before?*

My ring gave of this aura, and when I used Mana to enhance my sight, I could see a shimmering light around it, it was as bright as the moon, just like the color of the ring itself. I got the feeling that the light would protect me, when I was in dire need of help.

The Grimoire still gave me the creeps, but I gathered all my courage and opened it. It wasn't written in a language of this world. Instead it was Latin.

*Why would a book from this world be written in Latin?...From what I know they speak mainly 2 languages, the Ancient one, that no one can speak anymore, and the Worlds Tongue, that was created so every one in this world can understand each other...*

This left me quite unsatisfied, seeing as I never learned Latin.

*Why would Griselda gift me something I cant read? I don't know If she is still alive, but maybe...just maybe I can ask her myself...*

I skipped trough the pages in the hopes that I could find some with the Worlds Tongue, or maybe Japanese, but there wasn't.

The coin wasn't anything special, but it still was an important item I valued very highly.

*Strange, wasn't there a Human-Wolf mix on the coin...why is it now a normal human? Maybe my memories are just false...*

It clearly was the exhaustion that made me remember the coin false.

The shirt was enchanted with a special rune, it could block weak Mana related attacks while using my Mana for it.

*I think my silk shirt will, at some point in time, be a real lifesaver.*

I didn't realize that some tears flowed out of my eyes while examining all my precious gifts.

*I will kill these bastards that did this...and then...maybe I just join my parents...NO...or...*

The next day, as I continued through the undergrowth, something suddenly hit my backpack.

*What...it came from the inside...*

I put it down and slowly opened it.

The coin suddenly shot out of it, starting to hover in the air, spinning around until abruptly stopping. The face on the coin was gone, now there were skeletal fingers, that pointed into one direction.

*Does it want me to follow?...well, just thinking about this is useless...here goes nothing*
