This is not how I expected today to go. I had been tracking down a subordinate of the titans, that had been last seen somewhere in Maine. But, to my surprise, I nearly ran into Artemis and her hunt, hunting the same monster. I nearly confronted her for impeding on my territory. But I was just a minor god, what was I gonna do.

I can really see why some of the other gods defected to the titans. The Olympians are such tools at times.

Anyways, I arrived on the scene a bit too late to follow a stealth plan, like I initially intended. Now, I had to assassinate the manticore, avoiding his 3 hostages, avoid confrontation with 3 campers and the entire hunt.

In impossible situations like this, I like the option I call; "Pulling A Zeus." As the lieutenant fired her arrow at the beast, I swiftly took out my bow, nocked an arrow, and shot hers out of the air. My black arrow split hers in two, before implanting in the snow inches from one of the half-bloods foot.

"Careful. You might take an eye out with that," I announced, stepping into the moonlight from the shadows of the trees. My bow changed into a blackish bluish-silver trident, which I held pointed at the hunt. "Stay where you are, hunters. This beast is under my jurisdiction," I ordered, extending my senses should I need to restrain them.

"Do not steal our kill, Damocles. It will not end well for you," Artemis warned, nocking a silver arrow at me. "I'm not afraid you, Artemis," I retorted, growling at her.

"Lord Perseus Damocles! Have you decided your position, then?!" The manticore questioned behind me, though he shuffled nervously, pulling his hostages closer. With my better angle, I internally swore to the fates. Of course they had to be children of those particular gods.

"I am still very much neutral, Thorn. But that won't stop me from taking you back to Tartarus," I replied, glaring at him from over my shoulder. He stepped closer to the edge of the cliff.

"So be it, then," he muttered, and turned to jump off the cliff. I whirled around, throwing my trident straight at his back. I willed the snow at his feet to rise up, trapping him in icy restraints.

He fell short, dangling off the edge. But, he dropped his hostages during this. I leaped over the edge, grabbing the 2 demigods with pale skin and onyx eyes. I disappeared into a shadow, falling horizontally from a tree before gravity took hold and we slid on the snow.

"Where's Theo?!" The other group, the campers, questioned me. "It's water at the base of the cliff. Quite deep water. I know a child of Poseidon when I see one," I retorted, before focusing on the children in my arms. The oldest was a girl, around 12 years old. She has olive skin, and silky black hair. She wore a big coat, a red scarf, and a floppy green cap, as well as snow pants and boots.

Her brother was around 10 years old, and pretty much looked the same, apart from the hat. He also held some kind of card game, which had some mythological figures on them.

"Don't kill him just yet, Artemis! I still need him alive!" I announced, not looking behind me as I helped the children to their feet. "Are you two alright?" I asked, brushing them off. "Y-Yes, we're fine," the girl said shyly, slightly blushing.

"What are your names?" I asked, getting apprehensive looks. "My name is Perseus Damocles, you?" I asked, extending my hands. "Nico di Angelo," the boy answered, shaking one of them. His sister still looked apprehensive.

"He saved us," he stated, looking at her. "Bianca di Angelo," she relented, taking my other hand. "My pleasure," I returned, bowing.

I turned around, coming face-to-face with a young woman with brownish-auburn hair and silver eyes. "Lady Artemis," I greeted stiffly, pushing past her over to where the manticore was being tied up. He looked like a living pelt on a rack.
