Chapter 6

I opened my eyes as the sun hit my face. I still have the clothes I wore last night. I fell asleep without even removing my makeup. I straightened a little and looked towards the light. Delilah was still asleep and she hadn't changed. I sighed, saying it really happened last night. At the end of the night, Charles and I had officially met but that didn't change the fact that he was there with his girlfriend. I realized I didn't want to think about it any more. So I was getting jealous? I took a shower to get rid of last night. I was sure I still smelled tonic. After I got out of the shower, I cleaned off the rest of the make-up on my face and did a skin care. My face felt like I had taken a deep breath. Meanwhile, Delilah had awoken. "Good morning" she said in a deep voice. "What time is it?" she continued. I said, "It's coming to 11" "Wow, it looks like it took us half a day last night" she said, getting out of bed and into the bathroom. While Delilah was taking a shower, I started to change. I put on mom jeans and a white crop top and started drying my hair. At that time, my eyes were fixed on the notification that came to my phone. -charles_leclerc started following you on instagram-. What is that, I said and took the phone in my hand. This looked like his verified account. I went to Delilah, who came out of the bathroom excitedly. "Delilah! You won't believe it!" I said. "Yes, human but a popular person. I just said it because I didn't want you to be sad at the end of the day." she said. I realized now that she wasn't actually angry, she was just worried. An older sister instinctively wanted to protect me. I was giving it to her. But we were on vacation and of course I wouldn't be disappointed for someone I'm sure won't be in our lives when we come back. "I see what you mean, Delilah, I'm just trying to enjoy the holidays" I said and hugged her. She turned to me with a smile and said"I am aware of it." After getting ready, we left the hotel to have breakfast. After walking for a while, we sat at a cafe near the marina. I still had yesterday's alcohol fatigue on me. I said, "A strong coffee will be good for me" and we placed our orders. "Did you follow him back?" Delilah asked with a grin. "Actually, I didn't know what to do, how do you think he found me?" Charles wrote a message on Instagram. "What should I say?" I said in surprise. Delilah laughed, "What do you call someone who says hi, Irene? Of course, say hi too." I looked like a big fool right now. I returned to the message with excitement and surprise. Delilah was glaring at me. "Did you say someone we'll never see again this morning?" she said sarcastically. "Oh come on, Delilah" I said, rolling my eyes. At that time, another message came.

C: I was wondering if you're okay :)

I: Yes, I'm fine, thanks. How did you find me?

C: Hahaha never mind

I: Hmm, All right :)

C: I wanted to ask something.

I: Sure?

C: Do you have any plans today? I can show you the city.

I showed Delilah the last message he sent. She was looking at me in shock, just as I was. What should I do now? "Aaargh You have to say I have no plan! What are you waiting for?" she said excitedly. "Delilah, what are you going to do?" she said with a questioning look. "Are you worried right now that a 28-year-old married and responsible person would get lost in a small town?" she said, again with that sarcastic tone in her voice. "Okay, yes I was stupid." I said and replied to Charles.

I: I'm so glad I don't have any plans.

C: Okay, let's meet at the Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo. Is it ok?

I: Super. See you.

After a small plan, Delilah and I finished our breakfast and left the place. I decided to go back to the hotel and change my clothes. After quickly changing, I turned to Delilah and said, "Wish me luck." "But why I am wish you luck?" Delilah said, just as I was walking out the door. I winked at her and closed the door.
