Kim Y/N, 17 years old and enrolled in JYP High-School. She knows every student in the school and every student in the school knows her. You could say she's popular. Y/N is intelligent, funny, kind, anything positive you could possibly think of. She always succeeds with becoming friends with the new kids, introverted or not. She has a welcoming personality that anybody would open up to. Although her humor may come off as "mean", she just likes to joke around. She obviously won't use jokes such as those unless they are close.
She has a good family.. her family consisting of, Y/N herself, her sister Nayeon, her brother Taehyung, and her mother. Her father hasn't really been in her life because of past problems, but she was okay with it, the family she had without her father was much healthier.
She isn't particularly looking for a cliche high-school relationship, so she would kindly reject anyone who asked. It's not that she wasn't interested in men, she just had never felt attracted to anyone in her school. Either because they just want to date her for popularity, or she just wasn't interested.
You can just imagine Y/N as yourself, I don't feel like making a description. (It's more fun like that anyway.)
---
"Wake up, butthole."
I opened my eyes to the sound of my brother calling me names, "butthole" being the one to wake me up.
"What the hell? Get out, ugly asshat" I said, clearly annoyed being woken up with the use of vulgar language.
"At least I woke you up. I should've let you sleep in, you brat. Plus I'm better looking than you" He said rolling his eyes as he walked out my room, shutting the door behind him.
I sighed while shaking my head and got ready for school in the morning.
What does that even have to do with the situation?
---
I walked into the school, getting many "hello's" and greetings from the other students while I walked up to my best friend, Bahiyyih.
"Hey!" she exclaimed with her usual bright and bubbly attitude. Everyone in the school knew her also, meaning we're the perfect match.
"Hey, Hiyyih." I said while smiling, walking towards my locker.
"Did you hear the news?" She asked.
"No, I haven't why? Is it bad?" I asked concerned.
"What? I thought you would've been the first to know. But there's a new student coming!" She said, obviously excited.
"Oh! Really? It's the middle of the school year though." I said, an eyebrow quirked up.
"That's what I thought too, but apparently his stepdad or something owns a large company here." She said.
"Does anyone know his name?" I asked.
"No, I don't think anyone knows his name or what he looks like yet." She said, her lips pressed into a flat line.
I hummed disappointedly in response."Let's go before we're late. I want to make a good impression on the new kid." I said slightly nervous, not knowing anything about him beforehand.
---
My best friend and I walked into class early like we usually did, picking seats in the front row next to each other. We talked about random things for a few minutes before the teacher came in.
We all stood up and greeted the teacher at once before sitting back down. I could feel the tension in the room, everyone obviously wondering what the new kid would be like, since nobody knew much about him.
"Good morning, class. As many of you know, we have a new student with us today." She said, pausing, waiting for the new student to come in.
"Please introduce yourself." She said patiently.
The new student walked into the room, gasps and whispers following shortly after, mostly talking about how handsome or cute he was, while I sat there, waiting for his introduction. What can I say? I was impatient when it came to introductions, I just wanted to be friends and get it over with.
"Hello, I'm Yang Jeongin, please take care of me." He said, shyly.
He looked around the room until his eyes met mine. I smiled brightly at him and he just looked away. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused at what just happened. I was distracted the rest of the lesson, wondering why the male seemed like he didn't even want to look at me.
---
"Hey, Hiyyih did the new kid seem weird to you?" I asked.
"No, why?" she asked, visibly confused.
"Well I smiled at him and he just looked away." I said pouting.
"Hmm.." she hummed. "Maybe he thinks you're cute or something." She said, trying to bring up my mood.
"Or something." I said upset.
"Hey lighten up, it's lunch time!" She said.
"Ooh, what's for lunch today?" I said, excitedly.
"Uhm.. I don't kno- Oh look! It's the new kid, he just finished speaking with Chris! Go talk to him." She said, pushing me over to him.
"Huh? Oh, okay." I said unsure.
I walked over to him and as soon as we made eye contact, he widened his eyes and froze.
"Hey, Jeongin! I just wanted to say hello before lunch." I said hoping he would at least speak to me.
"O-oh, hello.." He slightly stumbled over his words.
I raised my eyebrows slightly and said, "I'm Kim Y/N, nice to meet you." I said.
"Nice to meet you, Y/N. I'm Jeongin." He said shyly.
My eyebrows furrowed and laughed at him. He looked at me panicked and said, "I-I'm sorry! You already knew my name.." He pouted and looked down embarrassed.
Still slightly laughing, I said, "It's alright, don't worry! Do you want to have lunch with my friend and I? She's really nice I swear! We don't bite." I said smiling at him.
"O-oh, um-" Someone cut him off.
"Hey Y/N! Sorry to steal him but me and the gang were going to eat lunch with him if that's fine?" The male asked.
I frowned slightly and agreed, upset at the fact that I didn't get a chance to become friends with Jeongin. I walked over to Bahiyyih and explained what happened.
She sighed, "Of course Jisung would do that. Disappointed but not surprised." She said and I agreed.
