It was fall as my best friends Kylie, Mika, Asher and I calmly walked upon the paved road to my grandmother's huge estate. The petals of the cherry blossoms littered the ground and danced through the air, almost magically. Slowly regretting that I thought nothing could ruin this peaceful moment I was wrong , my mind suddenly drifted onto one of the most horrid scenes I'd ever witness. The intense flames trapping me, burning and bruising my skin, blasts of blue and white light.. most likely from the burst electricity poles. It's the one thing that ever really scared me, mostly 'cause it was the day I lost my family... my caring parents and my protective brother.. all gone in the blink of an eye.

"Augh!" I groaned as Asher bear hugged me from behind dashing in front of me, his blue eyes playfully gazing into my colorful ones. My eyes were a bit different ... Ok a lot different. Not quite like people who have heterochromia , it was an unknown something passed on from parent to child in my family. I struggled to brush Asher off only to be crushed tighter as Mika and Kylie giggled under their breath. How annoying they can be at times.

Finally I broke free , a mischievous grin on my lips. As I turned to face them they sprinted up the slope to my grandmothers estate."Cowards!" I yelled.Dodging into my room after them they all had pillows ready, all ready for the battle to begin. One, two and ... three, I dodged all, tackling them onto my bed, my messy pony tail of red hair falling into my face.

"Thanks guys" I said a bit out of breath.

"It's the least we can do since you can never seem to get your head out of the clouds" Kylie chuckled.

Mika's eyes drifted to our album. Slowly she flipped through page by page her eyes welling up, tears threatening to fall. Mika and Asher were my friends even before my parent's death, I met Kylie in junior high right after my parent's death. Unlike the others who avoided me, she tried her hardest to console me even though I tried just as hard to ignore her, all I could say is she just got to me. Together we went embracing Mika enveloping into a big hug, emanating pure happiness... we really did love each other.

Never wanting to let them slip loose from my grasp like I did with my parents where I only watched helplessly, then disappear. I promised myself I would never lose them...that we would be safe together as long as we're alive. But suddenly that all felt like a distant dream that would never come true as a humanoid figure crashed through the ceiling casting an immense shadow over our now trembling bodies.
