'I can't believe Scoups paired me with you' I scowled at the purple-haired man
'Trust me honey, the feeling his mutual' he snapped back at me
I, myself, am a seasoned criminal who works solo.
But sometimes I'm contacted by bigger gangs and I pick up their errands if I get a bit bored. And VVA happened to be a gang that was slowly gaining momentum in the criminal world. A gang that was led by an old friend of mine. Which was the only reason I agreed to this job. But I didn't think he would betray me by partnering me up with this hooligan.
I heard a scoff behind me. I might have said the second part out loud.
'You'll go with my personal informant. He's excellent in communicating even with the trickiest dealers. He also has many connections that may well keep you alive. Also to tamper that fiery mouth of yours Kui' Scoups' voice echoed in my head
I frowned at the memory of Scoups not long ago. I really don't understand why this Jun man needed to go with me. I've worked in almost all my missions alone and had accomplished the goal every single time.
Although I've got to admit, there were a few measly times where I barely escaped with the goods. Or exploded a whole building. But that happened quite rarely. And that's besides the point.
'You're one to talk you savage brat. You can't even control yourself from setting everything on fire' he spat back
'What can I say I'm a dramatic' I said with a smirk
Once I've armed myself with the equipment and weapons I needed. I waited for the grape to finish before heading to the comms room where we would get a thorough explanation of the plan.
Finally he walked out the room and we went our way.
'You packed for a picnic Hui? Why do you need that backpack for?'
'Don't call me that. And I like to be prepared. You won't see me jumping out of windows with singed hair' he jeered at me
I scoffed at his teasing. This kid gets complimented by Coups and suddenly he thinks he's the best in the field.
Scoups personally gave the briefing as they were dealing with important cargo. And it had to be involved with the Bloodroot gang. And specifically their leader. I'd say him and his lackeys are the most ruthless and dangerous group of people I've ever come across. The most disgusting and cruel. Their building is definitely one I won't regret setting fire to.
One of Scoups' confidante in the Bloodroot gang received news that they were about to get their hands on the most expensive gemstone in the world. Stolen. Of course.
And our job was to steal it. Of course.
When asked what he was going to do with it. Scoups smiled to himself.
'Sell it to the highest bidder obviously.'
Criminals were criminals I suppose.
Soon enough, Junhui and I were on the way to a party. One hosted by Bloodrood gang to honour the pricks who decided to give the diamond to them. Unfortunately for us, we had to go in disguise. As a couple. A married couple at that.
'Don't be too upset honey. At least you'll be able to sit back and watch the master at work' Jun boasted
'Oh shut it Hui, we'll see who it is that will save your ass when you mess up'
He rolled his eyes and linked his arm through mine. With undoubted confidence, he sauntered in the giant mansion tugging me along.
