I woke up to the feeling of something warm on my stomach so I lifted my head to see Kenny's head there and a huge damp spot on my shirt. I immediately pushed him off of me annoyed. He woke up when his head hit the floor looking confused. "Wha?" he blinked looking around.

He drooled on my shirt!

"You stupid idiot!" I groaned stretching my shirt to see the damp spot clearly. Kenny squinted trying to process what was going on. When he finally saw it, he guffawed. I kicked him lightly annoyed. "I'm sorry. It'll dry off quickly." He said standing up. "It's still gross." I mumbled picking up my bag. Kenny patted my head chuckling and walked to the edge of the roof to peek down.

"Wait here." He said climbing down. I peeked down at him and saw him look through the shop's window to see if the group is still looking for me. Then he looked up and signaled for me to climb down so I did. And while I climbed down, I tried to not hurt my shoulder. I don't think it'll heal anytime soon judging by the way I treat it.

I finally reached the ground while Kenny yawned. "They've got a lot of food." He whistled taking one last look through the window. I nodded in agreement and followed him.

"Where are we going?" I asked.

"To an apartment building." He said throwing his arm around my shoulder. We walked all the way to the building and on our way we did not encounter a lot of zombies. Morning is the ideal time to travel by foot. When we reached the building I was surprised to hear loud engines. It turned out it was the sound of two car engines that I'm guessing used to belong to the tenants of the apartments before the apocalypse.

What surprised me though was that they did not have zombies flocking around them. How is that possible? The undead are attracted to sounds.

I think that my face was very expressive and showed the confusion I was feeling judging by the way Kenny was looking at me. "What?" he asked looking confused as well. I pointed at the two cars. He raised an eyebrow nodding. "Is this the first time you see a car?" he snorted. "People use this for transportation." I punched his arm. "No, stupid. That's not it." I rolled my eyes.

"Then what is it?"

"Why aren't zombies gathering around them?" I asked. Only a few zombies were there and they were just staggering around while the other zombies disappeared inside the buildings or under the shade. I don't know why they hate the sunlight, but they do. However, they'd go after any loud noise they hear even if it meant that they had to go under the sunlight to do so.

"Magic." He said pulling me inside the building by the backpack I'm carrying. I slightly bounced on one leg to prevent myself from falling because I did not expect him to do so. "Whoa, you didn't have to drag me." I said annoyed. He shrugged. "I know. I just love dragging people around. Besides, we don't want to be seen by the other survivors."

"Other survivors?"

"Yeah, they're nearby. This area doesn't have many zombies."

My face lit up when he said that. "This explains the few zombies." Few zombies mean easier supplies and higher chances of survival. This area is perfect. The only thing we need to worry about is other survivors. At least now I know that he knows what he's doing. He's smart for picking this area to stay.
