When you first told Rengoku about the horrors of your previous home, you had been staying with the Hashiras for about four months at that point. You were with Rengoku, Giyu and Shinobu when Obanai came in with what looked like a sword. He then sat it down in front of the other three Hashiras.

"We've been testing out a new type of sword.  Haganezuka found a new material called Hisiotine. From what we've observed, any injury given to a demon using a Hisiotone sword makes it heal very slowly, almost at a humans pace." Obanai said, his gaze flicking over to you for a moment. Your eyes went wide at the mention of the material.

'Hisiotine...'

(This is a made up mineral, it's not actually in Demon Slayer!)

All at once, memories of the past crashed into your mind like tidal waves. Everything went blank, as the words of your parents clouded your mind.

~~~TRIGGER WARNING~~~
"It's Hisiotine, that's why she isn't healing." Your 'mother', Yikaro, said bluntly. Your 'father', Hazariki, simply nodded.
"Excellent. Although, I think this requires further testing." Hazariki turned his gaze back to you, curled up in the corner as a wound in your arm spewed blood onto the ground. He then took the weapon from Yikaro, approaching you.
Things hadn't always been like that. At one point, your entire family was human. However, one day when you were simply 4 years old, you accidentally lured a demon right to your home. This demon then turned you, your mother, and your father into demons. They blamed you for what happened, and decided you needed to be 'punished' accordingly.
~~~TRIGGER WARNING END~~~

When you snapped back into reality, you realized that not only had you completely zoned out, but that the four Hashira in the room were staring at you with concerned expressions, even Obanai.

"Are you alright, (Y/N)?" Rengoku asked softly, reaching out to gently lay his hand onto your shoulder. However, he was surprised when you swatted his hand away; and even more shocked when you suddenly stood up and darted out of the room.

"(Y/N)?!" He called out, standing up to pursue you. However, Shinobu's voice stopped him.

"She needs time. She reacted like that when Hisiotine was mentioned, so it likely has something to do with that. Just give her a moment, Rengoku." Shinobu instructed. Rengoku sighed, before shaking his head.

"I can't just leave her alone, especially when she's scared." The Flame Pillar sighed, walking out of the room.

"Do you think she's alright?" Shinobu asked, looking over at Giyu. The Water Pillar was silent for a moment, before speaking.

"Something bad had to have happened to her to warrant such a reaction. I just hope that it isn't as bad as I think it is." Giyu sighed.

When you ran out, you didn't know where to go at first. However, you eventually decided to hide in your room. Under your bed there was a small vent, where you hid when you really couldn't face anyone. You slid under the bed and into the vent, curling into a small ball. Moments later you heard the door to your room open.

"(Y/N)? Are you in here?" That was Rengoku. You didn't say anything, but your soft, muffled sobs could be faintly picked up.

"Sunflower? What's wrong? Please come out." Rengoku said gently, approaching your bed. He knew you liked to hide under there from time to time, however he didn't know about the small vent. He knelt down on the ground, looking under the bed. He could faintly see you peeking your head out of the vent. You seemed to be trembling. He then held his hand out.
