(Gosh, why do I have to go on this boring trip... I'd better be home to playing football with my friends.) My name is Dylan I'm 9 years old, I live in Malang. My family is a normal family and goes to school normally, I am a smart kid in school because I always get good grades in all subjects. Today is school holidays, my friends are all on the football field around our house. Meanwhile I was in the car with my parents to go to my house in Surabaya. Why do we have two houses? because my father works in Surabaya and only comes back to Malang on Saturdays and Sundays, that's why my father bought a house in a housing estate close enough to his office to go Monday to Friday. (Don't complain dad brought you here also wants you to breathe the city air that you don't necessarily breathe every day) said dad excitedly. I sat in the passenger seat with a sullen face and seemed to want to get out of my car door. The trip took three hours including eating and drinking. When I entered the city center of Surabaya, I was very impressed to see towering buildings, cars and motorbikes everywhere and the infrastructure provided by the government. Well... maybe following this journey isn't quite as boring as I thought. Gradually my annoyance began to dissipate as our destination drew closer. Honestly, our trip here is just to say hello to my father's neighbors. Because I'm an introvert, it's only natural that I'm difficult to travel with, let alone meet strangers.
In the afternoon we arrived at the housing. At first, the housing looked dirty, there was trash everywhere and there were still construction projects. After walking around a few blocks, we finally found dad's house. The house looks dirty, it's because of the heat and no one to take care of the house. So before we rest we have to clean clean first. (Dylan, go get the white paint that's peeling off the wall and throw it in the trash can in front of the house!) my mother ordered. I took the white paint and threw it in the trash. On turning around, I bumped into a girl who was the same age as me.
{Ouch! Hey! Don't walk without see on you front!} she said annoyed.
(Eh y-yes yeah sorry I didn't mean to, are you hurt? oh yeah your leg was hit by sharp white paint. I'll take a small bandage in a moment!) because I don't want to make the problem worse, I decided not to fight and treat his injured leg. I always carry a bandage because my friends always fall when playing football. They always call me a walking ambulance with my habit like that.
(well, are you okay? what's your name?) I asked kindly
(em thanks....my name is Mira. I'm 7 years old. Nice to meet you) she said with a very sweet smile. I was blushing because I saw her smile, is it possible that I never talk to a girl who is the same age as me? may be.
(You just moved from here huh? Your face is very foreign. By the way, your cheeks are so soft...) Mira asked with a lot of affection for my cheeks
(Aww, stop it... you could say that, I'm just following my father.) I answered briefly.
(oh yes I'll go in first, I have to continue my cleaning first. Later when I have free time I can play with you) invite me to be better friends
(Erm okay! Byee Dylannn..)
[she did it again, why is it that every time I see him my heart beats so fast. Don't I have the courage to talk to girls.] I thought to myself.
(How's Dylan? How interesting isn't it going to a new neighborhood?) Dad said right behind the door. Is dad waiting for me outside?
(Gosh dad... you surprised me! yeah.. quite interesting. I guess) I said with a bit of annoyance.
With that annoyed I walked to my room and contemplated what I would do next.
(Dylan! We went to the neighbor's house, would you like to come with me?) asked my mother while knocking on the bedroom door.
(No mom! I want to sleep) I said with a bit of embarrassment to meet Mira. A few minutes later there was a knock on the front door accompanied by a female voice. I was afraid of the sound. The voice grew louder and louder. And at last the door opened.
