TRUE TO HISPROMISE, Marcel Gerard stood beside his Honda Civic bright and early the following day. It had been a bittersweet experience to be threatened by two of the Mikaelson brothers, and receive an invitation from Rosalie on the same day. The vampire was proud to say that it was only 8:45 AM, fifteen minutes before their agreed time; but his high spirits were quickly dampened when Kol Mikaelson, along with his sister Rebekah, strode across the street.
"What do you think you're doing here?" Marcel demanded, throwing a quick glance at the entrance that led to Rosalie's floor as his casual stance disappeared quicker than it had been adapted.
"Waiting for Rosalie, of course." Kol replied, like they were invited by the brunette.
Then, as though she'd heard her name, the Monet trudged from her residence, completely unaware of the Originals' presence as she shifted her shoulder bag with an exasperated huff. Willow, the unexpectedly helpful blonde child, followed behind her, snickering as her companion struggled.
Irises of gold moved to look at the unlikely trio when Kol gave her a cheerful greeting, "Jolly morning to you, Rosalie!"
Perplexed and slightly stunned, the brunette silently made her way to them. Willow frowned, equally confused, but followed nonetheless. Once the distance had decreased, Rosalie raised an eyebrow at Marcel, who looked helpless as he scrounged his mind for answers. The Monet turned to the siblings, asking in a resigned tone, as though their presence was nothing short of what was expected but not something she explicitly wanted. "What are you doing here?"
"We're here for the trip," Rebekah mumbled, chewing at her lower lip.
"Now," Kol interjected. "Before you protest, wouldn't you feel so much safer withㅡnot one, but twoㅡOriginal vampires? I mean, not to brag, but have you seen the muscles on me? Just look at these." He started to flex his arms, showing off the toned muscles that wrapped around them.
Rosalie gave him a blank look.
"What on earth is he doing?" Willow whispered inconspicuously, looking up at Rosalie.
Rebekah cleared her throat before her brother could do more embarrassing things."What Kol wants to say is: we want to help. Extra protection and all."
As much as Rosalie didn't want to admit it, having two of the most powerful beings in the world made her feel safer, especially after what had taken place a few nights ago. The look on her face must have been enough to convey what she was contemplating as an exasperated groan escaped Marcel.
A few minutes and arguments later, Kol, Willow, and Rebekah were seated in the back seat of the car; while Marcel drove and navigated the busy streets, and Rosalie sat in the passenger seat.
