Felix blinked, trying not to show his displeasure at Chan's change of mind. Growing up, Felix learned that a lot of people befriend him because of his family's wealth. The only people who genuinely like him were his inner-circle of friends but they were gone now. Only Jeongin was left. He was sure that Chan didn't want to get close to him for money. Chan was already a billionaire. But then, what did Chan want with him?
"What do you want?" he asked, feeling apprehensive. He didn't feel like this before towards Chan. He guessed maybe it was Jiwoo's sudden appearance and the confirmation that she never truly loved him that left him rattled.
Chan smiled, easing a little bit of the tension in Felix's heart. "How about you accompany me for breakfast? I know a place that makes the best pancakes. I promise that you'll love it" After all, Felix loved eating breakfast there when they were together.
Not expecting that, a smile broke on Felix's face and he chuckled. "Sure. I'm actually starving. I woke up late today and I was afraid I'd make JJ late so I left without eating anything" He quickly sent a text to his driver telling him to leave and the was going to have breakfast with Chan.
"I have to say that I'm glad that happened" Chan said. "If not, I would have been denied the pleasure of having someone as pretty as you eat with me"
Hearing that, Felix couldn't help but blush. Happy to get a yes from Felix, Chan led the way to his car which he had parked behind the bus he made Mingi get early this morning.
"By the way, how come you're here?" Felix asked, curious. What would bring someone like Chan to an elementary school?
Before Chan could reply, just as they had rehearsed, the driver of the bus approached them and bowed slightly. "All the children are safe and sitted in their respective classes. They all wish you a good day sir"
Chan nodded curtly. "Good. Make sure you pick them up when school closes"
"Yes sir" the driver answered then walked away.
Felix stared at Chan in awe. "You have a school bus that drops and picks your employees kids from school?"
Feeling smug that his plan had worked, a grin nearly broke out on Chan's face but he supressed it and schooled his expression then spoke as if it was a trivial thing. "I do. It gives them more time to work for me"
"Wow that's amazing!" Felix exclaimed, completely floored. He never thought Chan would be so considerate towards his employees. "Do they have to pay fees for it?"
"Of course not. It's free"
Felix suddenly grew more respect and admiration for Chan. The man truly cared about his employees. When they got to the car, a man dark haired man in a grey suit got out of the driver's seat and turned around. He opened the door to the back seat and greeted Felix politely. "Good morning Mr Lee"
"Good morning" Felix answered in a friendly manner. He recognised the man as Chan's seceretary. He had seen him the day he and Chan fell off the stairs at the police station. "Please call me Felix. Mr Lee is too formal"
Mingi was about to agree when he felt a sudden chill on his back. He glanced at Chan from the corner of his eyes and the dark look on Chan's face made his heart tremble in fear. He quickly lowered his head and cursed Chan a thousand times inside. "I dare not. Mr Lee, please, do not make this hard for me"
Felix wanted to argue and knowing Felix's behaviour well, Chan quickly cut in. "Mingi is very repectful. He has worked for me for a very long time but he still insists on calling me President Bang no matter how many times I tell him not to. Please, do not insist. He will not listen"
"Oh" Felix said, not thinking much of it, then shrugged. "Mr Lee it is then"
Mingi wanted to punch Chan in the face. What President Bang? He had never in his life referred to Chan as that and he never will!
"Mingi, hand me the keys" Chan instructed, stretching out his hand. "I'll drive. Take a taxi back to the company and make sure everything is running smoothly"
In a way, Mingi was relieved. He didn't want to be a third wheel. He gave Chan the keys, bid Felix goodbye then walked away to flag a taxi.

"How do you know I like my pancakes with chocolate syrup?" Felix asked, surprised that Chan ordered exactly what he wanted. "And how do you know I like my coffee black?"
Crap!
Chan tensed. He actually forgot that Felix didn't remember anything about them and ordered breakfast like they used to. He didn't know what to say and Felix was staring at him expectantly. "Uh...doesn't everyone usually have their pancakes with chocolate syrup?" he said nervously.
Felix didn't buy it at all. "I guess majority do but then, how do you know I like my coffee black?"
"You look like you do" Chan replied, trying to keep a straight face.
"Really?" Felix questioned, surprised. "Most people say that I look like the sugar and milk kind of guy. I actually like sweet stuff but I'm kinda addicted to the bitter taste of coffee. It's because..."
He suddenly paused and frowned. Why did he like black coffee? Felix thought hard but he couldn't remember and it made his head ache. Felix was already familiar with this kind of headache. It happened every time he tried to remember something but each time, it seemed like something was blocking his memories. Like a very thick wall.
Chan's chest tightened as he saw the frown on Felix's face. "Are you okay? Are you feeling uncomfortable?"
Hearing that, Felix shook his head and sighed. "I'm fine. It's just these stupid headaches I get from time to time"
"Have you seen a doctor?" Chan asked and Felix shook his head. "It's nothing serious. Sometimes I don't even have it for months" He let out a smile. "See, I'm perfectly fine now"
Chan stared at Felix for some time and when he was sure Felix was really fine, he backed down. Still, he wondered if the headaches were related to Felix's memories. His heart stung as he recalled that day in the hospital, when Felix said he didn't know him. Those words hurt like hell. He never wanted to hear them again.
