Dream of a girl that I have never seen...

A Short Story

Setting: A lonely grass hill far away in the peaceful hills of midwest United States with a single large shady tree. It is mid day and is warm but not too hot to be outside. It is cozy. You and I chose the previous day to go and enjoy an entire day away from society and this is where we ended up.

Story: Oh how i had enjoyed this morning. We had danced till we lay on the floor tired and decided to eat lunch under the shade of a beautiful tree that we had spotted. When we arrived at the base of the tree instead of eating we just lay down with me leaning on the tree and you laying your head gently on my lap. You began to doze peacefully and I loved that you could be so easy around me and not worry about whatever problems were in your life at time. As the minutes stretched on into hours you woke up just in time for us to watch the sun in a beautiful shade of red to end the day and bring night. A few minutes after the sun went down the night brought a chill that made you shiver. I untied the sweatshirt that some where between walking among tall grass that morning and then had ended up around my waist and gave it to you. You wrapped yourself in it and snuggle down next to me as i gaze at the stars. Without looking down i know that you are looking at me waiting for me to look down into your brown eyes. At this time of night they are so brown and beautiful. When i finally look down i dont give your eyes even a moment to linger before i kiss you. With all the love that ive contained in public for so long. When i pull away slowely I look up at the stars again and while you try to guess what im thinking, i know you never will. I am thinking how out of all the people in my life you lit up the night like a thousand stars. Scratch that. A thousand suns. I remeber the first time we ever talked in a way we considered being more than friends. At the time i never thought i would be the one to steal your heart. Sorry to tell you this but as i slowly fall asleep next to you i hope with all my heart that we will be remembered for centuries. I dont ever intend on giving your heart back. I love you too much.
