"Wow. Your house is bigger than my old high school. How do you get in it?" Sophia was thinking out loud. She usually swam right into her clam shell with, of course, the secret swish of her tail. So, she didn't know how to get inside a real human house even though she has studied a lot in Humans: Myths and Legends class.
Ryan gave out a small chuckle. "Oh, I see how it is, trying to let the handsome yet charming guy to escort you in. Please," he takes her hand, "let me to the honor." Sophia blushes and follows Ryan's lead up the house steps toward the front door.
"Check this out, " he rang the doorbell and it played the sound of the ocean waves crashing the shore.
"I tricked it out. Pretty cool, huh?" He asked her giving a small nudge.
"Yeah. Strange, too. My old home, to get inside all I had to do was swipe my tail-I mean hand over it and it would open."
A couple of minutes later, a young boy, a little bit shorter than Ryan, opened the door. He had dirty blonde hair and sea blue eyes that reminded Sophia of her home.
"Ryan, what do you want-huh?" The boy's eyes went directly to Sophia.
"Well, hello there," he takes her hand and kisses the top gently, "my name is Daniel." He then loops his hand and arm around Sophia's shoulder to take her inside.
"Wait a second, Daniel." Ryan pulls the two of them apart and faces Sophia."Sorry about that, he can be a little annoying sometimes."
"Oh, I do not mind." Sophia gives a quick wink at Daniel and he blushes a bit.
"Okay, and we are moving on." Ryan grabs Sophia's hand and pulls her completely pass Daniel toward the back door. "Our guest room is in the backyard like a different shelter from the house. You get to see our salt water pool out there, too."
They roamed through the house passing fancy furniture and beautiful lamps. The floor looked like a mirror to Sophia because she could see her reflection in it. The kitchen was huge and had marble counters and tabletops.
"Woah. Everything is so green!" Sophia was talking about all of the plants that were in the backyard once they got out there.
"Yeah, my Ma has a green thumb, she likes to garden a lot of the time."
"That is so cool. All these flowers planted are so beautiful!"
"Just like you are, Sophia." Ryan takes one of the flowers, a rose, and gives it to Sophia to hold. When she takes the flower, her whole face turns the color of the rose, bright red.
Oh my gosh! Did he really just do that?!?
"Thank you. That was very sweet of you, Ryan."
"You deserve it especially with all of the trouble you went through. Shall we move on?" Sophia nodded and they continued walking down to the pool house.
"The pool should be ready to swim in since Daniel cleaned it. Do you want to go for a swim later?"
"I would love to!"
"Great." They both arrived at the pool house and Ryan opened the door for Sophia. She was completely shocked at what layed before her. It was a whole bedroom with a small kitchenette inside.
"Thank you." Sophia then jumped on top of the bed.
"Glad you like it. I'll let you have some time to rest and then I can come get you for lunch. Okay?"
"Sure." But she was already getting under the covers and closing her eyes.
What a morning! Now I can just take a few moments to rest.
