Sitting comftorably in the booth of Jesse's diner was Glitzica Editson, a girl most referred to as Glitz. Although Glitz always had a deep yearn for adventure and spontaneity, she was a quite practical girl. Glitz had a routine, and she stuck to it. I mean of course she did, because there she was in Jesse's diner, the same diner she eats at every Saturday night because it was just something she'd always done. I don't have to try anything new', Glitz thought. I don't have to try anything new because I know what I like, and what I like is Jesse's diner. Granted, Jesse's diner was reasonably her favorite spot. It was quiet, never very busy, (which was good for a girl like glitz who hated socializing) a place that served delicious food, and most importantly it's owned by Jesse, whom is Glitz's best friend in the entire world. Glitz and Jesse aren't the type of people you'd expect to get along. You see, Glitz is the quiet type; she struggled to make friends in school and did barely any socializing now that it was summer. Jesse is the opposite. He's charming, loud, and sometimes a little too flirty for his own good. Of course, Jesse had his own problems, the most notable one being all the relationship hopping he does. It seemed like he was out one relationship and into the next. It was one of the few things Glitz judged him for.
"Don't you think it's a waste of time to spend all day looking at that screen. Come on Glitzy, you gotta get a life," Jesse teased. He ran his hands through his hair as he caught a glimpse of himself in one of the many mirrors this vain man kept in his diner.
"Like yours?" Glitz rolled her eyes in response. "I'll pass" Just before Jesse could counter her remark, Glitz's phone chimed.
"Who are you so busy talking to?" Jesse questioned. "Have you finally found yourself a friend? A boyfriend maybe?" Jesse laughed a little too hard as Glitz smiled down at the message. It was this guy she had been messaging for weeks.
Now, Glitz wasn't superficial, especially not as much as her friend was, but she did begin talking to this guy because of his looks. His name was Henry, though many called him One. Now, Henry was exactly Glitz's type. He was tall, had a fairly thin but athletic build, and blue eyes the shade of Lincoln Lake. (another one of glitz's favorite places) She felt so lucky to find a guy like him, someone so god damn intriguing. She had no expectations to meet somebody like him when she downloaded Tinder. Tinder is for desperate romantics and serial killers looking for their next victims, she thought. Well, Henry certainly had the potential to turn her into a romantic, and although such a stubborn realist never felt she'd experience the joys of falling in love once in her life, Glitz really liked this guy.
Henry: as it turns out, babysitting is not my thing. I wouldn't doubt it would be yours tho
Glitz looked down at the screen as her heart began to flutter. She tried to think of a clever response as Jesse caught a glimpse of the message. Glitz rolled her eyes in annoyance at her friend's immature behavior. Jesse is family to me. Glitz thought. But never in a million years would I date a guy like him. She was about to reprimand Jesse but, just then, three guys her age walked in the door. Shit! Glitz thought. It's YG and his goons.
