The Dark Side

Chapter 7

Joe had been talking to command over the radio as me a James sat and waited for him to tell us what they say. "Well comand says that they are surprised of what we have discovered, and so they said that we can leave the moon early in the morning tomorrow." Joe said turning off the radio.

"Well it's almost curfiew..." James yawned out loud."What do you want to do?"

I layed back and stretched out. "I'm hungry" I said.

Joe got up. "I'll get the water bottles." He insisted.

"Screw water, Maybe we can cook up one of those weired alien plants." James said pulling out his lighter.

I let out a short laugh. Joe looked relived. I guess he thought that James was serious. Stupid... As Joe got some water from the cases. James schooched closer to me

"I haven't thanked you yet for saving me Mellon, I just wanted to say thank you." He said.

"No problem." I smiled. "Don't make me regret it." I finnished.

Joe came back and handed four water bolttles to each of us.

"Eat up..." he said.

"Yeah right." James laughed.

I smelled my water to make sure that it was water this time. I could hear James whispering to Joe. "She's checking, she's checking." Joe nudged at him. "Don't worry Mell..." Joe said. I looked to James, he knew what I wannted from him, So he sighed and switched waters with me. We all opened our bottles. "Cheers..." Said Joe holding up his bottle. "To our new discovery." We all put our bottles together. "Clink!" said James, then he drank his water. Me and Joe said the same thing. But I didn't drink my water...

"I said I was gonna die of hunger, not thirst!" I scolded at the ceiling.

Joe and James laughed. "Don't worry Mellon, you'll get to eat food again when we get back to the ship." Said James. I smiled and drank my water.

I was snuggled up in my sleeping bag when I heard something outside. I opened one eye and scanned the area. I fell back asleep for a couple seconds, then I heard that sound again. It sounded like something was scratching the walls outside. I sat up and turned on a small lamp. "Joe...Are you awake?" I asked shaking his shoulder. I tuned to James. "Hey, get up." I whispered. but they were both fast asleep.

I got out of my sleeping back and put on my suit. I looked outside a window in the air lock. It was dark, I thought it would be better to bring some light. I wen't out side with a flashlight. by the time I was out I forgot to leave a note for Joe and James to know were I was. Oh well. I'll probably be back before they wake. I thought.

I walked around the house with a flash light, checking to see if anything were there. Maybe it might be one of those plant things running around. Then I saw something big move from the corner of my eye. I turn sharply and kept my guard up.

Suddenly I felt a small tug on my suit. I turned again but saw nothing. That's when I started to get scared. I walked backwards towards to air lock. I Tripped over something and fell down. As I reached out for my flashlight, because I had dropped it, I tried to see through the darkness but could'nt see anything. Then I caught something in my hand. I thought it was my flash light, but it was a bit squishy.

I scrambled to my feet. If it were a plant I would see it glow. I felt my heel roll over my flashlight. I quickly picked it up and tuned it on. I saw a black tail move away from the light. I heard it running off. That is not a plant., it's something else. It might be a new kind of spices that we missed. I thought.
