Since returning to Downton Robert felt sick to his stomach. Now came the wait of the results from Cora's test and it was like an anvil ready to drop on his head. She went up to rest after tea and it worried him, so he was going to check on her. He knocked on the door then heard voices upon opening it. "She did? Oh, Granny that's exciting! I should talk to her. Would that be alright?"
"I should think so," Cora replied, looking up at Robert with a smile. " Why don't you take her, Robert?
"Where are we going?"

" To visit Granny Violet, Donk," she answered laughing at his expression. She knew he wasn't a fan of the nickname, but he allowed it because she came up with it.
He took her hand. "Could you give me a minute with Granny Cora?"

"Of course," Sybbie replied with a smile.

Robert went to her side, taking her hand in his. "Are you feeling well enough to watch our servant's act?"

She laughed. "I'm surprised you want to."

"I just want to spend time with you."

"I can live with that. Go with Sybbie and I'll ring for Baxter."

"Do you want to go by yourself?" he asked at the door to Violet's room.

"May I?"

He gave her a kiss. right now, she looked like her mother asking him for permission to walk to the village. "Yes, you may. I'll wait here."

She nodded, knocked on the door and entered.

"Sybbie!" Violet said with a smile.

"Hello, Granny Violet. I just would like to thank you for the villa. What a wonderful gift."

Violet swallowed around the lump that formed as she glanced at the photo of Sybil on the mantel. "My darling, you are very special to me. Each day I see you. you remind me of your Mama. She was just as special as you. come here," she said and Sybbie stepped forward. She knew Granny wasn't a big fan of crying babies, but she always seemed to be more tolerant of her. Perhaps it was because of her Mama. Sometimes she was jealous of all the memories everyone had of here when she didn't even know er voice. "Granny, I wish I knew her."

"You only need to look in the mirror and know your own qualities to understand the beauty that was your mother.

Sybbie hugged her, placing a kiss on her cheek. "I love you Granny Violet and I'll never forget you."

Violet closed her eyes as she returned the hug. Imagining Sybil was standing in the room, smiling at them both. And she knew it was almost time to go. "Run along now, it's getting late, my dear."

Sybbie took a deep breath. She had a strange feeling that this was the last time she'd speak to Granny. She turned once more, smiling granny returned the smile as she left. She was able to hold in her tears until she was in the hall. "Donk!" She sobbed.
"Oh my darling," he said, hugging her.
