I was awaken by the rusting sound of worn out wheels. Curious as I was, I did not mind the time and decided to get up from my bed earlier than I would usually do. I slid my feet through my slippers and walked across the room. As I reached for the window, I was able to get a glimpse of the newly arrived couple that was set to live beside our house.
I let out a small laugh. Funny to see the smiles painted in their faces. I wonder how they would react if they realize that the last person who lived there had just recently died.... inside that very mansion.
The couple were quite old. By the mere view of their car, it was evident that they weren't quite living in luxury. Which was very strange to begin with, considering that this village is exclusive only for the 1 percent.
Fuck. I said to myself as I was taken aback after noticing that the woman has set her eyes on me. Surprisingly, she did not remove her gaze. For a second, I felt intimidated, yet I did not wish to lose the seemingly staring competition that was on-going between the two of us.
In the end, it was her who first looked away.
I silently observed as she and her husband carried their baggages and furnitures inside their house one by one. It didn't took them long enough to finish their job for they only had a few sets of things. I wonder if it would even fill up half of the space inside that humongous mansion.
It was quite a show. It was entertaining to finally saw different faces inside this neighborhood. I shrugged as they finally went inside their house.
Still, it was too early to start my day. I was about to go back to my bed when I saw the figure across our house. Keanu with his arms crossed was once again, staring at me intently. I rolled my eyes, making it too obvious for him to see. He was able to let out a sarcastic laugh and shook his head before finally entering back his house.
"Weirdo", I said.
