“That was really good.” Liam said. All the boys nodded.  A huge grin spread across Lilly’s face. “Thanks. It’s all her though.” Lilly said pointing to me. “No it’s not.” I lied not wanting the attention on me. “Yeah. My friends and I asked you if you would create a dance routine for us and that’s what we just did.” Lilly said looking at me confused.

“So you guys need back in here?” I asked nervously trying to change the subject. “Well only if you two are done.” Harry said. “Yeah we’re done.” I burst out before Lilly would say different. I grabbed my water bottle that was sitting on the ground and headed for the stairs. “Actually.” Niall said stopping me in my tracks. Lilly and I turned to face the boys who seemed to be having some trouble finding their words. “Could you do us a favour?” Louis asked glancing up at the two of us.

“Anything.” Lilly quickly replied. The boys chuckled. “Well we just want your opinion.” Zayn said looking at Liam towards the end. I took the hint and looked at Liam. He smiled at the ground and looked up to us.  “Will you watch our rehearsal?” Liam asked. “Yes.” Lilly shot out. “Why do you want us to watch?” I asked curiously. “Well, I. We thought it would.” Liam stuttered. “We thought you’re the crowd we’re aiming for so if you don’t like our performance you could tell us how to improve.” Louis helped. “Ok.” I smiled and took a seat next to Lilly.

Liam looked down at the ground and raised the microphone to his mouth and looked directly at me.

“I've tried playing it cool but when I'm looking at you I can never be brave cause you make my heart race.” I could feel my throat got tight and my cheeks get warmer. He chuckled and I looked away from him hoping I wouldn’t get worse. “Shot me outta the sky you're my kryptonite you keep making me weak yeah, frozen and can't breathe.” Harry sang.

His dreamy eyes, the way his hair perfectly flows the crinkle's by his eyes when he smiles, my thoughts drowned the rest of the boy’s out. “So what do you think?” Liam asked as I shook my head zoning back in.

“Amazing. You guys are going to kill it.” Lilly said. The boys smiled and looked at me. “Great.” I smiled. I got up off the floor. “Now we should really get going.” I said helping Lilly off the ground. “Why?” Niall asked. “Well we’re not really aloud to bother the guest.” Lilly said. “You’re not bothering us.” Zayn said. I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. “What is everyone doing?” My father asked.

“We wanted their opinion.” Liam said. “For what?” my father chuckled. “Our performance.” Harry said confused atmy fathers quick chuckle. I slowly started making my way towards the stairs. “Well, what did you think?” My father asked Lilly and I. “It was really good.” Lilly smiled, my father turned to me.

“Well?” He asked again. Liam intently watched me. “It was good.” I nodded. “Just good?” my father smiled. “What Lilly said? It was really good.” I turned and walked up the stairs. “Kat wait!” Lilly yelled following me up the stair. “Dad said to get dressed for dinner.” “They’re eating here?” I asked because normally he takes our guest out for dinner. “Yeah. Dining room at 5.” She squealed and ran up the stairs. I went to my room and picked out white shorts and a nice lace top. I walked back outside of my room and started walking down the hallway. “Yeah, no.” I heard Lilly say behind me.

“What?” I asked, she looked me up and down. “Let me pick out your outfit?” she asked leading me back in to my room. “What’s wrong with this?” I questioned. “We are having dinner with one direction and you’re wearing that.” She raised her eyebrows. “Fine.” I sighed pointing to my closet. She walked in and was out less than 5 secondss. “This with this and you’ll wear those.” She said pointing to a pair of pumps I forgot I had. “Wait. You want me to wear a dress with pumps for dinner?” I asked holding the dress. Lilly nodded with a defined grin. “Do I have to?” I whined. “Yes.” She shot back. “Can I add a few things to it?” I asked. “No. this is classy and elegant.” She left my room to go get changed herself.

I slipped in to the black dress she picked out. I buckled the thin strap around my ankle. I stood up and dusted off the bottom straightening everything out, observing myself in the mirror. I sighed at all my flaws; my shoulders looked weird in the reflection, my feet were already hurting. I walked in to my closet and grabbed a jean vest and slide my arms through the holes. I went back to the mirror. It still seemed plain. I went to my bathroom and opened a little drawer of necklaces and found and old watch necklace my brother had given me.

~ “I got you a gift.” Andrew smiled handing me a small box. “What is it?” I asked holding it in my hand. “Just open it.” Andrew put his chin in the air. It’s been 2 weeks since he broke the news to my father and I. My dad hasn’t really said anything, which kind of bothers Andrew but he doesn’t say anything. I gave Andrew a confused look before opening the box. “I saw it today and I thought you would like it.” He said as I dragged the gold chain out from the box, revealing a watch at the end just dangling in the air. I parted my lips as I grabbed the watch and held it in my hand. “You don’t like it, do you?” Andrew said disappointed in himself. “I-I love it.” I said wrapping my arms around him. “Good.” He sighed in relief. “Kids!” my father yelled just walking through the door. “Up here!” Andrew yelled back. We were sitting in the upstairs living room in our house in San Francisco.

“Guess what?” my father asked running up the stairs. “I’m guessing you’re going to tell us.” I said sarcastically under my breath. Andrew playfully slapped me on the leg for being a smart ass. “What?” my father asked confused. “Nothing. What’s the big news?” Andrew asked.

“I’d like you to meet a women I’ve been seeing.” My jaw dropped. “You’ve been seeing a women?” I asked disgusted. “Yes and I would like you to meet her. And her two daughters.” “No son’s eh?” Andrew chuckled.

“Are you kidding me?” I said surprised with Andrews’s reaction. “What? Come on you didn’t expect him to be single forever.” Andrew replied.  I rolled my eyes. “So when do we meet them?” I asked putting on a fake smile.

“Tonight. In an hour actually.” My father squinted. I took a deep breath; I was still frustrated my father didn’t even tell me he was seeing someone. Now we have to meet her and her two kids. I got up from the couch without a word and walked up to my room. ~

I heard a knock at my door bringing me back to reality. “Just a moment!” I shouted putting the necklace around my neck and walking to the door. “Everyone is waiting.” Martin said when I opened my door. “Thanks Mar.” I said for short.

The clicking of my heels against the tile echoed through the house. ‘They’ll be able to hear me from miles away.’ I thought to myself. I walked in to the dining room and no one was there. I let the door close behind me as I stood there wondering where everyone was.

I heard laughing and walked back out to the front hall. My father was talking to the boys as they walked down the balcony part of the hall. “You ready to.” My father trailed off seeing what I was wearing. “Ready to go?” Lilly smiled as she appeared from the other wing of the house. My father scrunched his eye brows together and walked towards me as the boys started putting their shoes on.

“You didn’t pick that, did you?” my father whispered to me. I shook my head and opened the door. “Martin can you bring around the escalade?” my father asked. Lilly walked towards the door smiling bigger than usual.

She reached for the door knob and slowly closed it when she stepped on the porch. “What are you doing?" I said classy. She angrily whispered. “What are you talking about? This is still classy.” I said. “You are wearing a denim vest.” She said. The door swung open and Lilly stood up straight. The escalade pulled up at the bottom of the steps. “Sir I’m afraid there are only seven seats.” Martin said getting out of the car. “Damn.” My father said under his breath. “I can take my car.” I suggested.

“That should work.” My father said getting in to the front seat. Paul got in the passenger seat. Lilly got in to the back and the boys piled in after her. “Sorry mate no more room.” Louis smirked at Liam taking the last seat. I walked to the garage and started up my car.
