"Ow, my head..."
As I wake up a consistent, dull pain starts to ache from my head. I try to sit up from my bed, but my head starts to spin so I lay back down.
As I lay down in bed I try to remember what happened last night.
...It's blurry, but I sort of remember what happened. I remember the groups who performed: Afterglow, Poppin'Party, and Hello, Happy World! I also remember that something happened after the show. I can't seem to remember...
Oh, that girl at the counter. What was her name again...?
...
'Aiko- CIRCLE Staff Member'
...Oh!
I quickly stand up, remembering my part-time interview. Frantically, I look around the room for my phone.
"Where's my phone?!?", I shout loudly.
"Here!", a voice answers from outside my room as the door opens.
"Here," my sister says as she tosses my phone onto the bed. "Fully charged."
That's my sister, (S/N) (L/N). Just like me, she's a completely normal highschool girl. If I were to point out one thing not normal about her would be her decision to attend Hanasakigawa, an all-girls school instead of Matsugaya.
"Thanks. What time is it?"
"...Seriously? You always wake up late during the weekend. It's 12:00."
"12:00?"
Opening up my phone I go to search up 'CIRCLE LIVEHOUSE'.
"1 hour? Alright then..."
"Are you going somewhere, Onii?"
"Yeah, I'm going to be out for a while. Dunno when I'll be back."
"Yeah, no problem. Me and my friends are planning to go downtown."
Downtown? Isn't that pretty far from here?
"Downtown? What for?"
"One of my friend's family owns a bakery there, so we're going there!"
A family bakery. Hm. I might've passed by a few times, but I've never been there myself. Whatever.
"Oh, going already?"
"Yeah. I'll be back around 6:00."
She begins to walk out of my room. "Mom already made breakfast for you. It's on the table."
Staring into the ceiling for a few more seconds, I stand up from my bed, still slightly dizzy. As I walk from my room to the staircase I see our house door close.
*Click!*
As I walk down the stairs, I see a plate of what I assume is breakfast. On the table beside the plate is a small piece of paper that reads:
'Sorry, had to go to work early. Here's breakfast! -Love, Mom.'
...Well, guess I better eat it.
"Thanks for the meal~."
...
[About 10 minutes later]
...
As I grab my phone from my room I look at the time.
"12:14"
...
"I can make it, but I'll be really early."
Looking at these directions, I should be there an hour early. What should I do in the meantime? Should I go buy groceries in the meantime? No, that takes too long. Maybe I should just go there now, but it'll be weird if I show up an hour early. Maybe I should stay here for a bit, then leave around-
*Bzzt Bzzt*
"..? Is that my phone?"
I reach into my pocket, grabbing my phone.
*Bzzt Bzzt*
An unknown number? Who could be calling me at this time?
...
Guess I'd better answer it.
...
"Hello?"
A voice I don't recognize answers me.
"Oh, thank goodness! I was worried I got the wrong number!"
Listening carefully, I can hear the muffled humming of a car driving along with the faint sound of a song playing through a radio.
"Excuse me, but do I know you...?"
"Oh, you don't remember me~? I feel a bit insulted..."
Huh? Is this person from one of my classes? No, it shouldn't be. I don't talk to anyone there. Then, maybe she is from...
"I'm just kidding. But, do you really not remember me? We met, last night. After the show, Aiko-chan introduced you to me. She told me that you were applying for a part-time job at CiRCLE, and that you had experience with instruments."
Last night? Well, I do remember talking with Aiko-san about applying for a job there. But, after the show? I can't seem to...
As I think to myself, I feel my head throb in pain. I go to sit down at the table.
"...Marina-san?"
"You do remember! And, if I'm correct, you're (L/N)-san, right?"
"Yes."
"That's great! By the way, (L/N)-san, where are you right now?"
Huh?
"I-I'm at home right now, why?"
After a small pause I hear the humming of the car stop.
"Once you're ready, I'll pick you up from your house." I look outside the window. "I'll be waiting here for you."
Looking outside the window, I see a car parked in front of my house.
"Eh? How did you know-"
"I drove you home yesterday after you missed the last train. You gave me your address."
...
As I look outside window, a creeping sense of regret and dread fills my body. Did I make a mistake applying for a part-time job? Do I even remember how instruments work?
...
Well, I guess it's too late now. I should at least see this through...
...
"I'll be out there in a second!"
"I'll be waiting!"
