As soon as Samuel enters the castle, he hears voices yelling and objects being thrown. He quickly recognizes the voice of his father and the voice of his uncle, Sir Harry.  It looks like  the voices are coming from his father's office. He tries to walk as quietly as possible and puts his ear next to the massive wooden door, in order to hear the argument.

-Why won't you bring Samuel to that ball? He could finally have a chance of meeting princess Amelia before the wedding! We both know he's very anxious about it, maybe it would reassure him if you brought him there!

-I will not do such thing! He will meet her when she s¿walks down that aisle, end of discussion Harry. I am his father, not you, I make the decisions, not you. I am the king of the kingdom, not you. Don't you dare disrespect me like that again!

-What about Samuel? You're so obsessed with power and being the one that takes the decisions that you completely forget about your son's well being! Think about his mental health for god's sake!

-Mental health? Will you stop with that nonsense Harry! Only wussies use mental health as an excuse.

-Sweet lord William! Since ever Christine died, you've been nothing but cruel, to yourself, to your son, to your surroundings and to your people. Maybe if you would take a moment to think about your actions, you would be more happy, and your son as well.

Samuel suddenly heard a vase break.

-Get the hell out of here! Don't you ever put your foot in this castle again after you talked to me like that! I could lock you up for god's sake!

Samuel heard some steps walking towards the door, so he quickly walked away and hid behind a large flower pot. He saw his tall uncle walk out of the office, completely furious, it was like smoke was coming out of his ears. The prince heard another vase break and his father letting out a loud yell of rage. He had never seen his father that angry. He most've been very insulted by Harry's comments, but Samuel's uncle was right.

Christine was the queen of the kingdom, the wife of king William and the loving mother of Samuel and his brothers. She was deeply loved and admired by the whole kingdom. She was her husband's happiness. When she wasn't around, the king would become cold and upset. When Samuel was ten years old, she passed away of an unknown desease. The whole kingdom became silent at her death and mourned for years, and still do. William never completely recovered from her death, and since she passed away, he changed. He became cruel and with no mercy. He showed no empathy towards his sons or his kingdom. He tries to be happy and make memories with his sons, but he can't, not without his caring wife.

Samuel slowly came out of his hiding area and went to see his father. He entered quietly the spacious office and saw fractured vases laying on the floor.

-Father? Is everything alright? I heard some shouting so I-

-SILENCE! His father shouted, making the whole castle quiet.

At that moment, Samuel couldn't recognize his father. It wasn't the sad and lonely man he knew. This man that he was starring at was broken. He was furious about life and took his anger out on others. The prince walked away, not wanting to bother that stranger anymore.
