This story takes place in Hawkins, Indiana on March 2nd 1988. Two years after Vecna had almost destroyed humanity itself and everyone was still trying to get back to normal. Eddie was found in the upside down, unconscious but still quite alive and had to be immediately taken to the hospital.
But, let me get to the main focus...Mike, Will, Lucas, Dustin, Max, and El (or also known as Jane) are in their senior year. Will is an artistic boy who enjoys painting, drawing, etc., almost anything you can think of! Will is not like other boys though, he's gay. Well, that's how he feels about his sexuality, he's never liked a girl...he's only found males more attractive to him.
People who are gay, bi, or anything else, are looked down upon as "freaks" or a dirty word used against them which we all know. Will has not told anyone yet, not his mom or Jonathan, and doesn't wish to tell...because the fear of homophobia.
The boy he likes is his first friend, his best friend, Micheal Wheeler. He's hoping that Mike likes him back, maybe even supports him at least but he's scared...just so scared to tell anyone, even his own mom. But his mother has alright gotten an idea of what he's into.
He wishes to gain confidence and maybe a drop of hope to be able to let out his feelings without being looked down upon.
