It was too late.
The three of them arrived just soon enough to see Abel being flunged inside the pond, and the monster jumping in after him.
"ABELLLLL!" The swordswoman screamed as the water turned red.
She wanted to jump in, she really do, but her two teammates is holding her back.
"You can't! You'll sink! Your leg aren't in any condition to swim-" the mage boy was pushed back by the sheer power of the sword wielding girl as she trashed around to break free.
"..." The only one still holding onto her, the dagger wielding rogue, silently let go, seeing something floating, breaking the water surface.
It was a foot.
Abel's foot.
"Argh......aaaa.........aaa..." The sworswoman dropped to her knees, as the foot floated towards the shore.....towards her. The blood from from the detached foot is still flowing out, marking the water surface with a patterned red line.
"ARGHHHHHH!" She wailed, cried, griefed, hugging the foot tight to her chest.
At the other edge of the pond, opposite of the three, surfaced the monster.
"Abel!"
In the monster's 2 big claws, is Abel, being held up like a trophy.

"ABELLLLLL-HRGAH!" The sword lady passed out. Maybe out of anger, or due to the fact that she was hit from behind right at the neck.
"..." The rogue set her companion down, while her mage brother kept an eye out on the monster. She had to do it. Or else the girl would just jump in after her brother like an idiot.
They need strategy, not anger.
"..." They both looked at the monster.
It was drowning Abel. Letting water enter his lungs so that he can sink with it.
🔸
"Oh, you guys are still here-" Wheatley flicked a throwing dagger away. "Such rude guest." He prepared as the one with black hooded attire ran along the edge of the pond towards his side, and the one with the magic staff start chanting.
A pincher attack.
"Smart." Wheatley tugged his legs close to his lower body. "But not smart enough." He sidestepped quickly into the pool.
"Damn!" The mage had to cancel his attack, as the target can't be seen. And the rogue can only wait for Wheatley to come back out. She slowly walked towards the already dead cleric, hoping to drag him away from the pond-
Flop!
"Oh no you don't!"
🔸
Fishes.
Fishes was being thrown out of the pond towards her.
One, after another.
"..." She stayed vigilant. This is just another trick that monster is playing. It's intelligent....as if it's human. It knows exactly how to react to any situation, and manipulate human emotions.
It's....
...evil.
Pssshah!
She got distracted. It was too late. The fishes was indeed, another trick. The monster was bidding it's time to emerge on the other side, the side with her unconscious friend, and her defenseless mage brother.
