The princess rushed down the stairs and went to get Anastasia to get ready for the ball. She was so excited. They both rushed upstairs, as Amelia jumped up and down from the excitement. They started the makeup, keeping it very natural, while the princess was in her silk bathrobe. They then moved on with the hair, putting her long and healthy hazel hair in a magnificent half up half down, with a branch of baby's breath to top it of. Once they we're all done, Amelia put on gold earrings with a pearl necklace, accompanied by some golden heels. The princess then put the dress on with Anastasia's help.
The princess gracefully went down the marble stairs to greet her mother. She gasped at the sight of her daughter, beautifully dressed. "Oh dear, you look beautiful!" she said. Amelia respond with a bow, followed by a chuckle. Her mother told the princess that the servants were finishing up with the ball room decoration and food and then the ball would start. Amelia sat down on the velour sofa and looked by the window. She gazed the sunset and watched the stars slowly arrive, as the lights started to light up around the kingdom. I'm really gonna miss this feeling once I'm gone, she thought to herself.
The royal trumpets announced the start of the ball and the guests arriving. Anastasia helped the princess get to the top of the royal entrance. The entrance reserved for the arrival of the royal family members, like the princess, the queen and the king. It was followed by lots of majestic marble stairs. As she waited behind the large wooden doors, she heard she father announcing her arrival. "Please welcome the lady of the night, princess Amelia Joy!". The princess took a deep breath as the guards slowly opened the heavy doors. She quickly put on her best smile and walked carefully making sure not to fall, as the crowd praised her. Some cheered, some simply clapped their hands, but Amelia knew that all eyes we're on her, and she loved every second of it. Her hand slowly resting on the ramp and her putting her feet down, one by one, carefully, to not humiliate herself. The other hand held her dress up a bit to make sure she couldn't trip on it. As she reached the floor, her father took her hand to help her out. When the princess arrived face to face to her people, they all bowed, intimated by her presence.
While she was greeting some family members and some friends, she heard a guard warning her father: "There was an intruder, he was trying to meet the princess, he claims to be the prince Samuel Alexander." When the princess heard that intruder's name, she quickly turned her head around and walked over to the guard.
-Where is he? I want to see him.
-I'm sorry princess, he already left.
-Make sure he doesn't come back, the king ordered.
The guard walked away, calling his co-workers as Amelia stared at her father. Before he could explain himself, she walked away. Afterwards, the ball went very well. Amelia got loads of compliments on her dress, just like she wished. When the clock struck midnight, the guests slowly started to leave and the princess left the evening to get to bed. She fell asleep thinking that if that guard wouldn't have caught Samuel, she could've met him before the wedding. It's almost like God wants me to runaway, she thought.
