Sophie Florence: yes he is because in Episode I, when R2 was on the surface of Amidala's ship under heavy attack (acting like an actual astromech droid) every other droid got hit, but not R2. What force in the universe allows an individual to avoid blaster fire and know just how to move to avoid harm? The precognitive abilities of the FORCE, of course.
Brianna Bolla: Oh Sophie when will you learn that droids have suction cups?R2 would use the suction cups because he's smart. If R2-D2 was a jedi he would have saved the other droids. Also mabey Qui-Gon or Obi-wan protected R2. If R2 was a jedi he would have saved the other droids because jedi are peacekeepers or keepers of peace
Sophie Florence: R2 was present for Luke's training as a Jedi. Yoda wanted him there for assistance, of course, whether he knew it or not. I wouldn't be surprised if R2 gave Luke a few lessons while Yoda was napping or nibbling on candy bars.
Brianna Bolla: If R2 trained Luke then he would have two masters and he calls yoda master yoda.
Sophie florence: By the way, how did Luke manage to crash-land on Dagobah within a mile of Yoda out of a WHOLE PLANET? Let's assume Dagobah is a Mars-sized planet. That's 55 MILLION SQUARE MILES of planetary surface. So the odds are 1 in 55 million by random chance. Of course that's not what happened. The scopes were dead. R2 GUIDED HIM DOWN. Just like he found Obiwan on Tatooine. It's pretty amazing if you really think about it.
Brianna Bolla:he managed it because yoda used the force to find and guide luke. First Obi wan used the force to sense that luke was in danger and Obi wan looked after luke.
Sophie florence: R2, of course, "just so happens" to wake up at the right moment to share the star map to help Rey find Luke. COINCIDENCE? I THINK NOT.
Brianna Bolla: R2 was in low power mode so he could wake up at any time and listen to stuff and hear that the rebels were looking for luke.
