Chapter 15
Ally's POV
The tension in the house was overwhelming. It had been 48 hours since Faye had set foot in this house. 2 days had felt like 2 months, I couldn't breath, I felt like I couldn't move, I had finally had enough and I physically couldn't and definitely wouldn't take it anymore. It was just Thursday and I felt like it had gone on forever.
Ever since Queen Nasty had walked in and nuked everything my mind had gone into overdrive; 'why was she here? did she plan it all? did Jake know about her coming? what was he going to ask when she barged back in here?'. I needed answers and once I had gotten them I was gonna be out of there faster than you could say Jiminy Cricket.
I knew that getting those answers would be harder than it looked and going up to the Jake and Faye would not exactly be possible so there was only one person that I could go to for help.
"Jessie" I said, sitting down in the deck chair beside her "I know I might be acting a little overdramatic but I can't do this anymore. I.."
"Er no, drama is my thing, practicality is yours so if you need practicality lets swap places."
Her words had brought a smile to my face (as always) and I also knew she was right so I continued.
"Fine, missy, I'll have my practicality back but, as I was going to say, I'm going to need your help with something."
"No problem, mi amiga. What's the plan?"
So I explained my plan to her and also what I was going to do afterwards. She agreed with me and said she was totally in. Instead of getting straight to it, we sat there for about an hour just talking about anything and everything until Lukas came to see Jessie so I took that as my cue to leave and my sign to start out my plan.
I went off to find Jake; actually it was more like to stop Jake. Since Faye had come he had spent most of the day pacing up and down the beach or just sitting staring out past the water.
"Jake" I said softly, reaching out to touch his shoulder but contrary to my intention I still ended up startling him.
"Whoa, Ally, I didn't hear you coming." he tried to sound like himself but it was easy to hear the anxiety in his voice.
"Did you need something?" he continued.
"Errm yea, kind of. I just wanted to talk to you, seeing as you haven't been in the house much lately."
"Sorry about that, I just needed to..." his speech kind of got quieter until the point that I couldn't hear his last few words.
"No need to explain yourself." I knew exactly why he didn't want to stay in there because it was the same reason I didn't want to stay in there.
"Sooo, Faye, huh? Didn't expect her did we?"
"I really didn't. She knew it was over between us the moment I walked away from her and now, now I don't even know what to think."
I could tell that he was genuinely broken up about it, he didn't expect her so that answered a few of my questions, but the big question right now was 'why?'. So I asked.
"Why? Why does her coming here change your mind I mean?"
"It doesn't change my mind, it just confuses the hell out of me. She wants me but I want someone else..." he looked at me so intensely for a second after that before he continued, "I thought I wanted someone else but with her being back I'm not sure anymore."
I knew who the someone else was, it was too obvious and I wasn't sure if this made my decision easier or harder but I knew that both decisions were his.
"It's alright Jake, no matter who you choose, it'll be fine"
'It would be fine'. I continuously chanted that to myself after I had left him there to think. As I was walking away I remembered that there was still one thing I needed to ask so I turned back to him and asked,
"When she came you were gonna ask me something but never got to finish. What was it?"
"It's nothing important now." He sounded so sad when he said that to me.
There were two people I needed to speak to afterwards: Faye and Jessie. I needed to get Jessie to let her knows she didn't need to do her part of my plan and I needed to get Faye because I would do that part of the plan myself.
I found Faye in his room, reading a book in a crop top and shorts on his bed. She looked like she had been waiting for him to come back because when I went in she was trying to pout and she was all 'Jakey is that you?'.
"It's me" I said, which made her drop the slut act but I knew it was only cuz I wasn't a guy. We stared each other down for a bit before I decided to be the mature one and speak first.
"I've got a few questions. First question, why?"
"Oh you irrelevant little slut. You don't get it do you? He was mine first and I can't let him go." Her face seemed a bit sad and more honest than ever as she continued, "he's the only guy who's ever cared about me and I need him so much more than he needs me."
Her voice cracked at the last few words and I thought that maybe I was the one being selfish but that changed as soon as she looked back up at me. "But whatever, I don't need to explain this to you, he will choose me."
"Fine, but one more thing: don't make his choice all about your body because it's not going to end well. If he really loves you, he loves your soul and your mind."
After that I didn't really want to hear her voice anymore because I couldn't bear the fact that I just gave her advice. It seems that she just may need him more than I did. I had come to the decision that if he had not chosen one of us by Sunday, I was so out of here.
