"It's us or them and we shall not die today!" Yongsilie's booming voice was heard in the distance of the screeching horde.
"Swing your blade faster our brother needs our help!" Yonggan sterns to his younger brother Yongqi. "I can only cut down so many!"
A rabid mob of strange creatures surrounded the three brothers pooling around them in bountiful numbers of thousands. The creatures bodies piled into mountains among bodies of men; while the surviving beasts crawled overtop of hills of fallen man and demon. Only in presuit of malice toward the three brothers. These beasts, long limbed and thin. With large mouths that extended down the length of their entire body. Sharp long humanlike fingers ripped into the flesh of the fallen corpses below. Scowering for a place to crawl themselves forward, up the hill of the deceased.
"We wont make pay if we dont make it home alive!" Yongsilie cutt through the enraged animalistic demons. Every swing of his blade cleared path for another 30 monsters to take their newly fallen's place.
"Cummon boys we-" Yongsilie's words were sliced short, a slash in his belly gushes blood with rapid viscosity. Yongsilie couldnt recall any of the beasts piercing his armor. But with every swing of his blade more and more blood oozes from his stomach. Yongsilie notices he can no longer see out of his peripherals. Black dots appear in the centre of his vision. His energy fades and everything he is able to see becomes less visible with every movement of his sword. Yongsilie falls overtaken by the cryptid mob. Getting torn into unrecognizable shreds Yongsilie was no longer himself; But a mess of flesh adding to the mountain of death he once fought upon. After defeating the demons King Tanlan crongratulated Yonggan and Yongqi upon their arrival back to the kingdom. A feast was held in their honor with a memorial for their fallen brother. The brothers were celebrated as heroes but a grim taste still remained in the surviving brothers mouths. After their celebrated victory king Tanlan reqested the two brothers come to his quarters immediatley. Upon arrival the King had a daunted look on his face. "We have discovered the source of the malicious creatures. Every dawn the fog in the plains grows closer and closer to the kingdom. We send in soldiers but find them dead. Resting just outside the ever growing boarders of the fog. A shadow is seen waiting for our scouts arrival only to dissapear back into the mist." The king paused with an uncertain look on his face. "We know... we are certain, this is where the beasts are coming from. The shadow man is the one bringing them into our world. You two were the only survivors of our last combat with the beasts. You are the only ones we know capable of stopping this.".
The brothers eyed one another hesitantly but under the King's orders and incentive of greater pay, they obliged. The fog was thick. And left tiny moist droplets of water that clung to Yongqi's face. "If we are here for too long our armor might rust, then what good would it be?" Yongqi said while turning back to face his brother. Yonggan was nowhere in sight. But Yongqi could have sworn that his brother was right behind him. A shadowy figure appeared in the distance weilding Yonggan's blade. Yongqi's heart sank, he knew he was all alone. "Where is my brother?!" Yongqi called out into the fog. The homanoid shadow moved forward at a rapid speed but without a single footstep, not uttering a single word. Yongqi charged toward the shadow matching its pace. Their blades cross, after continuous exchanges Yongqi realized something. This misty demon must have absorbed his brother. As every exchange reminded Yongqi of his many sparring sessions with Yonggan. Every move the shadow made mimicked his brother. Yongqi kept slashing, the explosive clash made sparks that parted the mist with every clash of their swords. Yongqi felt the demons steel meet the flesh of his arm. Piercing through his gauntlets. Yongqi fought back slashing and fighting, their blades matched every blow. Yongqi's arm started to weaken from the wound. Yongqi felt the strength in his arm begin to fade. Then the shadow lept skyward raising it's blade into the air. Noticing this mistake Yongqi lept up and plunched his sword through the demons heart. The illusionary shadows around the demon started to fade. The mist encompassed the two. When it had begun to dissipate. Yongqi looked down at his fallen enemy. To his horror he drew back his blade. And saw his brother Yonggan dead on the ground bleeding from his chest. They were at the edge of the fog once again. And a shadowy figure was seen by the lone brother fading away into the mist.
