Soojin was tossing and turning in her bed. The unwanted memories flooded her mind as they did every night. Sometimes she would wake up more than once depending on the occasion. But, unfortunately, dreams don't stop just because they aren't to you liking's. And so she watched it unfold in front off her.
Pain. A scream. Gasp. Breath. Hurt. Silence. Wait. Listen. Retreat. Nowhere was safety, but she wanted to get as far away as she could from pain.
Her older brother was hurt. She wanted to help but she remembered the last time she did. She didn't avert her sister any pain she only made it worse.
"Don't ever come help, EVER. Just stay away and stay quiet." She remember her brother, Sihyuk, saying. "As long as your safe then I'm okay, alright?"
"Don't look or your next". She would tell herself. "You're stupid, get a grip. This is all your fault."
But what did she know? She was only eight. And so, wearing her brothers over-sized pajama shirt and her own pink short she was hiding behind the hallway dresser. She knew he was coming, after all she heard him yell and her brother crying and telling him to stop, but she still jumped and winced at the sight of him. She assumed her was drunk again by the way he hobbled across the hall. He grabbed Sihyuk's arm and twisted it causing him to holler in pain.
"You dumb bitch, you should just die now!" He screamed. "You only cause problems you cursed shit!"
And then, a single tear fell as if in slow motion, down Sihyuk's face as a small smile appeared. Eventually it all calmed down and her brother looked...different. As if it was finally too much. Like she had just sat there and watched her brother break. And she hated watching her brother die inside. Then her brother said the very thing that hurt her soul. Just a small peep, but it was loud enough for Soojin to hear.
"Jinnie, if you weren't here i could've left. It's your fault that i have to suffer. All your fault..." He muttered. "But do me a favor, would you? Don't come crying at my funeral because i can't wipe your tears. And if any other bitch sees you they'll try to do it for me."
