-Magik comes from two primary sources, Life or Death.
Life Magik: Light Magik, Life Magik, White Magik
Death Magik: Necromancy, Death Magik, Black/Dark Magik, The Dark/Black Arts
-Magik users focus their magic through a channel (or Focci). While it is possible for a Mage to have multiple Focci, most choose only one or two. Even so, just one Focci usually requires a lifetime to fully understand and master.
Common Magik Focci: Storm, Water, Fire, Air, Earth/Stone, Plant, Animal/Insect, Ice, Metal, Sound, Light, Sun, Moon, The Nether
Uncommon Magik Focci: Ocean, Stars, Volcano,
-Magik cannot create energy, any spells or rituals simply channel energy from one place to another. And Death cannot be reversed (save by the Whitewood Queen and the Queen of the Nether, some say). Necromancers steal magik from other living things, often times with lethal affects. White Mages borrow energy from the residual forces of the life all around them, which can be easily replenished by the presence of Life itself. Often times they can even bolster the life energy of the plants and animals and even people around them in order to generate enough magik to power their spells. Needless to say, White Mages tend to make the best healers, while Necromancers tend to make the best battle mages.
-Two common creations used by Mages are Tupilaq and Ushabti. They are essentially constructs made of various materials (usually at the Mages discretion) and are tied to the life energy of the Mage and the Earth itself.
-Ushabti are usually human-sized, and normally structured after humanoids. They are used as mindless servants and sometimes bodyguards for Mages (The Whitewood Tree is guarded by a number of wooden Ushabti created by the Whitewood Mages. Icereach is guarded by Ushabti made of ice and rock created by Kiranth the Ice Queen).
-Tupilaq are large, massive creations usually made for one sole purpose, war and combat. Because of their size and the sheer amount of magik needed to power one, they are almost strictly ritual-based spellwork. It is rumored that the Dark Throne is guarded by a number of rock Tupilaq that can only be summoned by the Queen of the Nether herself.
