Richie sighed as he pulled up to the Hockstetter family house. After Mr.Hockstetter died and Patrick turned 18, Mrs.Hockstetter just up and left. Nobody knows where she went, but all she left was a note to Patrick saying goodbye. Of course, there are rumors going around saying that Patrick killed her, but Richie didn't really believe them. As much as Patrich didn't want to admit it, he relied on his mother.
He walked up to the door and before he even had to knock, the door swung open and Patrick was standing on the other side of the door in just a pair of shorts. One downside to Derry's summer. Every year was like a damn heatwave. "Tozier?" Patrick asked, quirking up one eyebrow and looking at Richie.
"I-I want to buy some weed." Richie stuttered. Jesus, was he turning into Bill or what?
Patrick just smirked and invited Richie into the sitting room. Richie looked around the room and thought about how the house itself barely looked lived in. Well, he supposed that was because Patrick was out in town most of the time trying to get more clients for his 'side business'.
Sitting down on the couch, Patrick spoke up again. "Well, how about I cut you a deal?" Patrick asked, waiting for Richie to nod before continuing. "You get your first couple of joints for free if you promise to smoke them here. With me."
Richie couldn't believe what he was hearing.... Patrick Hockstetter wanted to smoke weed with him? "And if I say no?" He mumbled, half hoping that Patrick wouldn't hear him.
"Then you don't get any."
Richie rushed to agree with the man's demand of smoking with him. He needed this. After being alone for almost two years, he needed something to take the edge off and to take his mind off of his friends. "What's in it for you?"
Patrick just shook his head with a smirk on his face, avoiding the question and pulling a pre-rolled joint out of the drawer next to him, lighting it up and taking a hit. Inhaling, he held the joint out to Richie.
"Well?"
Richie didn't hesitate to take it this time.
