Letters to My Beloved

It's been years since Yoongi had been touched. Not just one or two but too many to mention without sacrificing a bit of his own alpha pride. He had spent so many nights wanting to be close to someone again, he had taken to reading the "looking for love" section of the local paper.

Marriage. That is where his troubles lie. He had an omega once but she died in childbirth eight years prior. Since then he had been alone, living a simple life in a cabin he built in the woods. He had left the pack a year after the deaths of his family since everything reminded him of his loss.

His omega had been the only one he had ever been with intimately and he was far too shy to put himself out there in person again. His mating with Heiran had been arranged by their parents. She was also shy but they slowly warmed up to each other. Neither had been outrageously in love but they both deeply cared for one another.

It was at the suggestion of the local general store owner, Namjoon, that he began reading the personals section in the first place. The other alpha knew how difficult it was for Yoongi to approach an omega and told him about how he himself had met and exchanged letters with an omega he met through the ads, leading to his recent mating. Needless to say, Yoongi bought the paper shortly after.

It had taken a few months to find an ad that caught Yoongi's eye, but one finally did.

23 year old widowed male omega looking for a potential mate. Alpha preferred. Must be kind, patient, and understanding. I am with child and am planning on keeping the only reminder of my former alpha I have left. I look forward to your letter.

- Signed, Lonely but Hopeful

He debated on writing the omega but decided it would be nice to have someone who understood what it felt like to be widowed young.

Dearest Lonely,

My name is Min Yoongi, and I am a 34 male alpha. I am also widowed – my omega passed away in childbirth when I was 26. The baby she was carrying was also taken. I have been alone since.

I am a carpenter by trade and have my own stocked and furnished cabin I built when I left my old pack 7 years ago. It was too difficult to face all the memories of what was and what would never be.

I hope this letter finds you both well and healthy. How far along are you? Do you have any of the necessities for the child? If not, I am willing to build, make, or find any you desire.

- Signed, Yoongi

A week later, he received a letter in return. It took him an hour to build the courage to open it, fearing he would be rejected.

Dearest Yoongi,

I must say yours is, by far, the best letter I've received. You were the only one who acknowledged my child, and that means a great deal to me. Your kind words were appreciated.

My alpha died before I knew I was expecting and I've been trying to make due with what little we had. We had only been mated a few months when he passed. We were renting a room and did not have many belongings. What little we had, I've been forced to sell as it had been difficult for me as an expecting omega to find employment. I've managed to make a few blankets and baby gowns. It is difficult to find material so most are made from things that belonged to my alpha.
